So, heres the problem..

My website (https://rockeydev.me/search/) loads pretty good, but when you enter a gamertag (remkoe), you notice the search loads slow.

You'll notice on http://trials.report and you search 'remkoe' in the box, first search is slow, second is faster than the first next search

Any tips?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

How does this website work? Does it send a request to another service/website for the username?

I was thinking cache the data and have it do searches every second

You could cache the data when it’s searched for and use the cached data for say an hour or so until it’s searched again then you can update the cache with an updated version of the data.

I could make these changes for you and speed up your site. Dealing with slow API's is super frustrating, but there are workarounds.

So, we've tried to cache the data and collect it for 2 days, but were still managing to have issues.

If you notice here: https://rockeydev.me/search/

You type remkoe in the box, search will be slow at first, reload the page, and it's even faster the second time.

Still trying to figure out why we can't get the first search under 2-3 seconds of response time

Sounds like your doing client side caching not server side caching. You can’t speed up an api you’re not in control of.
