So stupid that anyone can open a mm service, half of the kids on here would scam out for pocket change.

The owner of this site (I don’t know who) should hand-pick middlemen, open a middlemen section where ONLY the selected middlemen can open a thread, and let them middleman. That way, only trusted users who Mick trusts himself such as Zyger can middleman, not the guy who just hit 30 rep and thinks he can middleman now.

It’s easier for noobs to find a trusted mm. There are also people who farm rep here just to scam out.

And if the trusted mm end up scamming, guess who is on the hook? You guessed it, Mick is and that is never going to happen. Also, users have the right to find MM that fit their needs, if they want less rep and less fee, they have that choice. Just because you think they might get scammed doesn't mean you get to decide what mm they use.

Mick would never vouch for a MM or make a section specific for people he deem trustworthy for middlemanning the items on this site, because as Scroll32 said that can put him and the reputation of his site at risk if anything goes south.

Other people have explained my point of view on this. I can certainly see why this may be valuable for our newer users who don't really know what's going on, but it could also go very wrong and leave me liable.

I do trust Violet and Zyger with their service and I would happily use either of them to middleman a deal I was involved in if necessary, but that doesn't change the fact that anyone could scam out at any time. The internet is a scary place, and we've unfortunately even seen cases of staff members scamming out in the past.

Always do your due diligence on everyone you're dealing with, including middlemen.
