I'm currently converting a single server to a hub+server with bungeecord, and want to know what kind of specs this hub server should have. I'm assuming 1-4GB of ram would be sufficient, but some advice would be great.

The hub server would have around 20 plugins, and a very small amount of entities/blocks in the world at all.

Thanks!

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If you had 1.5 gb on bungee, and 2gb for the hub, if the Factions server crashed, wouldn't it then cause an issue? A 2gb hub probably couldn't handle 250 people trying to connect through it to the factions server.
Ive run 250 on 1 hub with some modifications to the spigot, plugins, and players were vanished. Also if 1 crashes not all others do too. The whole host would have to go down to fuck the servers up.

I'm planning to have chat/player visibilty disabled, so I'm hoping this won't cause issues.

Should be fine. I was also running an i7-6700k with DDR4 ram, so its much better than a shitty host. So make sure the specs are decent!
Yeah that's my only issue since I don't want to invest in a dedi just yet. Will hopefully be fine with around 50-100 players on a decent host.

Actually your Hub won't need more than 2GB ram. Minecraft is a game mostly based on CPU and not RAM. As long as there won't be too many explosions (that usually take more CPU then RAM) 2GB will be just fine. Also, you won't need more than 512Mb for your bungee, bungee is basically a socket center for all the server connected to it, if you have 2 servers all it needs to save on the RAM is:

1. 2 server names.
2. All players on both servers.

512Mb should be more than enough for that.

Good Luck! <3[DOUBLEPOST=1527997190][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to add to what I said before about the bungee, if you have some heavy plugins running at the bungee you might want to ask the developer how many data is being saved on the RAM then decide if you want to go with 1GB or 512MB.
