Did you know Spigot recently decided that resource authors would no longer be allowed to sell their products for more than $19.99?

I've made a thread on their site explaining the effects of such a limitation.
https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/re...newly-implemented-premium-price-limit.278404/

Seeing how this change will undoubtedly discourage the development of projects which we would have liked to see over here at MC-Market, but now may never see; I think it's relevant enough to share with you guys.

Personally, believe highly in a free market environment, and have great distaste for the idea of a bigger hand limiting what you're able to do with your own work.

What do you think?

(No, Spigot is not a competitor)

YAY EPICWORLDGENERATOR MUST BE CHEAPER! HURRAYYY!
You obviously didn't read my Spigot post.

If you were unaware of this change, the first thing you're probably thinking is, "But wait, doesn't that RIP EpicWorldGenerator? Their plugin is $40. Nooooooooo.".

You're correct about EWG being $40, but no, it's not RIP. There are plenty of resources that were prices above $19.99, and as long as they were made before this change was implemented, they get a free pass.
The resources that are RIP... Are the resources worth more than $19.99 which have not yet been uploaded.
And that's where the majority of my concern lies.

Who reads? (actually I do but still) I only noticed the words:
would no longer be allowed to sell their products for more than $19.99?

What would stop resources such as EWG from moving over to MC-Market, for example. At a price of $40 - I do not believe this forums has anything against this pricepoint.
EpicWorldGenerator is safe from being affected by this change since it was uploaded before the change was implemented.

Not to belittle MC-Market, but WE are not the place people go to buy/sell plugins, Spigot is. Because Spigot is where the plugins originate. It's the API for every plugins' development. Spigot specializes in plugins.
Therefore, if Spigot does not allow a certain pricepoint, then there is very little chance that a developer would have enough motivation to start a project with the intention of selling it at a price greater than $19.99, if the best place they can do that is MC-Market.
They might as well get a real job with their talents.

I say this from the perspective of a plugin developer, because I am one.
If I want to make money off of a plugin, I'd post on MC-Market AND Spigot.

Love to see the resources that would cost $100 before the limit, lel.

Doubt that this will heavily influence anything. The overwhelming majority of resources are well below $20 and the ones that are over will find their way to keep their prices up.
