No need for a 1TB SSD when he can put the money towards 16GB of ram and just get a 256GB SSD for $30
Yeah but if he’s putting windows on it and if he currently has a 1TB hdd, then he should get a 1TB ssd but I agree with the ram[DOUBLEPOST=1563921382][/DOUBLEPOST]

He should be fine, I have a 256GB SSD and I have Windows, Fortnite, Rust, Overwatch, Apex Legends, MC, and all my applications on it and its only 2/3 full
Tbh it’s preference, for example I have 4tb of storage, some have 256gb lmao

Hows this looking?

Looking good, EVO’s are great. I’d go with more storage but it’s up to you

Ram (which I may be mistaken but I’m 99% sure) is temp storage. Rust stores things and has to keep it loaded, for example the map, but it’s contents for example the bases, are loaded into ram. Again, I could be mistaken but I think that’s the issue. I couldn’t run rust with a hdd either I had to get a ssd

Same here man. My cloud computer that I used to rent to game on had SSD, 8gb ram some good proccesor and a gtx 1050 ti. dont remember exact processor. My pc has the same specs now, except no SSD and im pretty sure my processor isnt that good compared to the clouds. (4 core 3.6ghz) But it took me 45 minutes to load into rust, as opposed on the cloud pc which took 2. I got super pissed off and just quit for awhile until my friend downloaded the game, and we've been playing since. Ordered a ssd not to long ago and it works great now. I almost bought more ram sticks that I didnt even need. Get the SSD!

I recommend grabbing an mx500 over a samsung as they perform within margin of error and the mx500 is a bit cheaper. Please stop bringing up portable ssds and just get an internal one. Before dropping money on a bracket, open up your computer and check if one of the slots support 2.5 inch drives. The budget case I bought 2 years ago had a drive cage that supported both.

Yeah, I opened my PC today to look for screws and brackets and I was shocked it didnt come with any extra brackets. I looked around my house and couldnt find any either.

Nubbles you should have a SATA cable that came with your motherboard. The Samsung EVO is a great SSD with good performance. If you want to save a bit of extra cash and don’t want to go all out on it you could check for other brands too (ex. kingston). That way you might lose out on a tiny bit of write and read speed (how fast it loads stuff etc) but it will save a pretty penny. In case you don’t really care the Samsung is a good choice. I’d advise you to get a 250/500 gb version (depending on what you want to throw on there).

Also one more thing to note is that if you clone your current HDD and throw it onto your SSD, I’d strongly advise you to first thoroughly check your HDD for corrupted files etc. depending on how long you’ve owned it and what you’ve downloaded over that time. What I would personally recommend is installing a clean windows onto the SSD from a portable bootdrive (usb). This will save you the hassle of going through your files and after you can just move the other programs over to the SSD.

If you need any help feel free to DM me
Im driving to best buy to buy the SSD and Im not sure what to do after I install it (like putting windows on).

If you could add me on discord that would be awesome. Trevor#4511
