I understand I’ve suggested this before but I feel like it’s something that should be taken seriously as there’s 100k memebers on MCM and not enough staff to handle all 100k. I’ve said this to multiple users and they agree which is why I am suggesting it again.

I believe a staff applications section under a forum, or in its own, would be great for the community. A correct way to run it would be having Ataff Applications Managers and a few Trainers for the new recruits.

Staff Applications Managers would manage the Staff Applications section, accepting/denying applications etc.

Trainers is quite self explanatory, they would train new staff to understand their position wether that be Mod or Scam Resolver, etc.

This method seems much better then the current one of allowing only certain people as they don’t seem to be accepting the offer, there’s multiple reputable members wanting to be staff but don’t have the option.

Too many chefs spoil the broth.
Then let Mick accept/deny but he may get overwhelmed, I feel like a system like this is needed, the current one seems too slow for the size of this. Waiting 5 months for a false reputation to be removed is ridiculous.

Where would these “managers” and “trainers” come from? The pre-existing staff? They’re already up to their necks in work. They don’t have the time to check massive amounts of applications flowing in at all times, hence the reason staff applications are released sparingly. We also shouldn’t just promote people in mass, the Mc-Market staff team will become a quantity vs. quality situation really fast.

Just be patient. Mick and the other staff members understand that Mc-Market is in need of staff. Hell everyone knows. The time will come when qualified users will be promoted.

Mick is capable of finding trainers and applications managers, if not there’s multiple current staff which could be promoted to these positions regardless of their current tasks if it means more staff to help them sort current issues faster, Kram is dealing with almost 40 scam reports from what I can see. I understand the good ol “quality over quantity” but if it’s done right, wouldn’t 100 good staff be better then 30 good staff, or however many they have currently?

The problem is that if there were 100 or 30 good staff applicants around wouldn’t they have been promoted by now? I don’t think promoting 1/3 of the sites user base is the solution. Also, if we’re going to take the time to promote managers and trainers, why not just use that time to find and promote users to the actual staff positions desperately needed?

That is fair point, but it’s not being done which is why I’ve tried to come up with a solution that should at least be tested

I understand but if we all vote and get this to 300 votes or something they have to act on something along the lines of this, if not they’re almost as bad as EPIC Games

We do look for staff candidates on top of opening staff applications when needed. When staff applications are opened, people who meet the undisclosed requirements can apply and the team will discuss the candidates.
Managers just sounds like it wouldn’t work as well as what we are doing right now. With many users, it’s unlikely the manager would have experience with all the applicants but if the team together discusses candidates good and bad experiences from each member can be shared so a clearer picture of what the user is like can be formed.
About trainers, every mod and above is essentially a trainer. When a chat mod has a question the first available person answers it. The scam resolvers as a team help each other when needed as training for scam reports is really through experience.
Don’t get me wrong, I agree that the team needs more people, I just don’t think a whole application and training system will be the way to go about it.

If the people who meet the requirements don’t apply in the 2 weeks+ or so they are open, I doubt they are very interested. There are the few that don’t meet the requirements at that time but soon after do, but that doesn’t mean they can’t become staff or won’t get a chance to apply in the future.
Keep in mind, we do look for possible staff members through moderating the site and looking at posts as well as other methods. If it gets suggested, I’m also against removing the requirements to apply as the ones currently in place do a mostly good job of filtering out the people who wouldn’t be a good fit. The ones that don’t meet the requirements and are good fits will generally be noticed by one of the current team members.
Like already touched upon, the problem isn’t that we aren’t able to find people interested, it is the problem that many of the people that are interested do not meet a certain standard. Either they constantly broke/break rules or act just in an immature way.

There isn’t a solution that fixes the problem without having its own problems. This solution creates the new one of having to spend more resources on staff applications when it won’t bring as much of a benefit as you’re predicting. Just because it hasn’t been done doesn’t mean it should be done.

For many years I was extremely hesitant to introduce staff applications, and when I did I made sure to do it in a controlled way like we have at the moment. Staff applications are opened occasionally to users for around two weeks like Kram has said, and any more than that is superfluous. Finding more staff isn't a problem because we don't have enough applicants, it's a problem because we have incredibly high standards for who we promote which I don't intend to drop any time soon.

A lot of the complaints about our team are that we are slow and we have been promoting a bunch of new staff to fix our delays and backlogs. I don't want to drop our quality standards for staff though, and making it too complex isn't necessary. MCM's standards for staff are way higher than a normal minecraft server and our expectations are higher too.

we dont want any situations like BucketOfSloths where you have an ex staff member scamming out for 90$. (200 rep btw)...
Scamming is extremely unfortunate no matter who does it, and unfortunately, it's never going to be possible to prevent exit scamming from any individual.

I forgot to move this to denied, so I'll do that now.
