Staff Applications

A lot of people, have been complaining about the current staff situation. I say we bring in a staff application system, with the following terms of similar.

- You must be premium to apply
- You must have x amount of posts
- You must be on the forum for at least 3 months
- You must have no/few recent punishments

Then all new recruits become a "Trial-Moderator" ranking, in which they are evaluated. If they do well, they are promoted to full mod.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea.

They could change the supreme rank to allowing people to apply for staff. Would give some actual value to the supreme rank

I already hate the "you must have premium" idea simply that I stand for the poor.

And the idea of an application system especially on a forum where threads can explode out of slanderous situations/rumors/possible facts, is highly toxic and will not benefit. Though I am not in favor of saying that the current handpicking staff system is "perfect" I am definitely not in favor of saying this will improve this current process.

I have to say i dont really like the whole "gotta pay for a chance of staff". Buying a rank doesn't really show anything about a person beside the simple fact they have some money to spend.

Although I neither personally like the idea of paying for a rank to apply, I also this is a marketplace. The best staff are going to be those who have been through the 'trenches' and have been part of the community long enough to make a $25 profit to buy supreme.

I've literally made 2k~ or so profit on this site.. notice no supreme? Some people just refuse to buy supreme due to the stupidity of having to pay $25 even if you bought premium already. Having supreme or premium shows nothing about a member and it shouldn't be factor in who can be staff and who can't be staff.

Well, nothing apart from them spending $25 on a digital rank But in theory I agree.

*cough* I still buy stuff and sell stuff but there is literally no reason for me to get a rank *cough* *cough* Just because some rich kid has his mommy buy him a rank on a website does not mean he is a better candidate for staff as a default member *cough*

Anyone who applies for staff, on forums or servers i instantly ignore. Staff should be picked by admins based on how helpful they are in general to people, following the rules and not breaking them and generally being a nice person to all. If you have to ask to be staff in my opinion it shows that you are only interested in having power rather than helping. now people are going to argue with this but ask yourself why do you need staff to help people? mods etc have perms to do things yes but that doesn't stop you from trying to help. if you use that as an excuse i see it as a poor one.

Now i realize that this perfect world does not always exist. most times being a staff member is all based on popularity and whether you are in their group or not. which is what i see here. this site is too much a 'its not what you know its who you know'.
