Hi all! I know I asked this or similar a few years ago, but things have changed out there a wee bit and I am looking for some organization assistance/feedback please?

Currently my staff team has 14 people on it, including myself. So we are just little still, and currently we are doing all our tasks and communication through a staff discord. We have tried using the threads to assist us, but well they are ok, but I think there are better options out there.

I am thinking of moving us to Trello and Slack - but am hesitant to go from one place to two - maybe they have integrations with each other so staff doesn't have to go to both sites always?
I think we need something to streamline the tasks and projects better, plan future stuff, and well delegate tasks perhaps? I don't know?

Does anyone use these two? do you mind sharing a bit about your organization with them - are you guys arranged by tasks? projects? ranks?

But do we want two things? Do we integrate some of the staff discord stuff into our normal server discord and delete the staff discord?

What do you guys use for your staff teams and project management - what are your worst and best things about whatever your method is?

My personal favourite solutions for project/staff organisation would be Discord, Notion and Jira:
Discord - If you’re not a big server, I’d rather use a staff Discord than Slack. I definitely would not put staff stuff into the main Discord, when I’ve walked in on servers that operate in this way it’s usually the first thing I change. The main downside of Discord is how many integrations it has for our sort of work, but you can overcome some of that via Zapier.

Notion - I can’t speak highly of Notion enough. It can be a home for documentation, task management, and has plenty of useful integrations such as a Miro for advanced mind mapping. I use Notion for both personal and server projects (mainly documentation and task management/organisation).

Jira - Superb software but comes with a premium. However, it’s fantastic for collecting things like emails, bug reports and handling tasks in a very professional manner.

Trello - For handling tasks, it’s essentially Jira’s younger family member. You can definitely use this in a productive and efficient manner - but I don’t have too much experience with it so can’t give much feedback.

Slack - Slack is great for businesses, there’s a reason why so many use it. The integrations are good and if you’re looking to go outside of Discord for staff communication, this is it. There might be a Trello -> Slack integration, but if not it can definitely be done through Zapier.

For general organisation, I’d organise things in all three of the options (task, project, rank) depending on the circumstances. Typically, things will be done by project and then task if necessary. Additionally, I don’t think having more than one platform for stuff is bad

You have a few options. I personally prefer Discord & Trello for the reasons below.

Discord - Everybody knows and uses discord in this community so everyone will already have an account, easy to access and keeps staff discord and server discord in the one place.

Trello - Easy to create a work process when developing and updating a server. You can have things go from being developed to live on a server using cards You can assign people cards and add checklists. You can also use automation to move things from one place to another. It is also free.

Another option is the full Atlassian suite, Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket. These are all paid but very good services, fully integrated with GSuite too.

Confluence- Very like notion, very good for documentation, and very easy to use. It has a lot of features built in to allow you to create precise documents.

Jira - Exact same as Trello but just a bit more advanced. You can create agile sprint processes here for updates you wish to release etc.

Bitbucket - Atlassian version of Github. Can store code and plugins there.

Slack - I use slack every day with my job and it's solid but when it comes to an MC server I do not think you can look far past discord.

Hope this helps ChitterChatter
