Yo, thought I'd share this with you guys. (SN = Serial Number) This is a upcoming rocket that is in development by SpaceX called Starship, This is the rocket that is suppose to make Human life multiplanetary. Currently in South Texas SpaceX is constantly testing prototypes of this vehicle. Unlike any other rocket company they are moving rapidly, Not in secret, and there are multiple 24/7 live streams to watch testing happen.

All of these tests below are only in the last YEAR keep in mind.

Starship (SpaceX Website) This is the crewed version.

SN1 Failed Cryo

SN3 Failed Cryo (human error)

SN4 (Methane leaked rapidly from ground support equipment and interacted with flare stack igniting the entire vehicle resulting in an explosion)

SN5 (First EVER full sized prototype to fly to 150m and successfully land)

SN6 (Second successful 150m hop and landing)

Current: SN8 (Completed Cryo, Static fires, and first ever starship prototype fully built with 3 engines)

(Pictures show the nosecone section being stacked just a little while ago today) SN8 is getting prepared to make a 50,000 foot flight in just weeks time.

I just would like to post this to get people excited for space travel. This rocket is our best shot at landing humans on mars and preserving the human race.

I’m trying to become an Aerospace engineer myself and I’ve been watching these closely. There are a lot of failures and I promise you there will be a lot more and it’s going to be a long time before this launches humans. What I will say is this rocket is amazing, cheap, and massive which helps solve a lot of problems

We aint getting to mars anytime soon, and even if we get there we can't eat dust. Best thing to do is to preserve earth

All this progress was made in ONE YEAR alone. It is very fast paced.

100% will be years before any humans are ever on this rocket as i think elon said he wanted to do at least 100 flights un-crewed with no major issues before humans. I as well wanna become an aerospace engineer too[DOUBLEPOST=1603415202][/DOUBLEPOST]^^ Adding on to this they are about 80-90% sure they'll be able to get this to orbit in 2021, and im personally going to guess Humans to mars in 2026-2028

That'd be a good use for it while not doing human flights.. i think elon said recently too that they're trying to do orbital refueling in like 2022 but i could be wrong about that- Not sure if you saw but did you see the HLS Lunar Starship mockup they're working on?[DOUBLEPOST=1603415785][/DOUBLEPOST]^ To be more specific they are making a physical mockup right now[DOUBLEPOST=1603415882][/DOUBLEPOST]I think SN5 is going to be painted as well and this nosecone stacked on it for the presentation in a few weeks

I did see that, and yes. They recently got contracted by NASA to do LEO refueling proof of concepts

Damn, well i really suggest joining the labpadre discord server as there is tons of people there to talk to and they have a daily updates channel so you'll know whats up within minutes of it happening- i found it sooooo much easier once i joined it
