Want to get started in the hosting family.

I would like to know how like aquatis or nolag.host manage to go $1/gb.

And i won't do any re-sell vps on OVH. I'm gonna buy my own dedi in the future. For now i will learn how hosting works, WHMCS And a lot more.

Need some tips on where to start and what Dedi hosting should i go for.

Thanks!

Be prepared to have at least a couple $1,000,000 to start. You will have to build a data center and get racks, power, staff, and network connections. Then expect to spend around $4000 on a couple servers to sell. Finally, you'll need at least $10,000 to pay enough staff to maintain the center.

Seriously though, It's a saturated market. I've invested around $300 - 400 in my hosting service in the last 4 months and we're currently doing revamp. If you don't have a steady income from somewhere else more than $100 - 200 month it most likely won't last long.
$300-400 in 4 months? Damn, that's cheap.

Let's be honest, 90% of these 'hosting companies' act like they own in-home hardware. The places that actually own hardware and have shown legitimate proof is HostGator, and other larger advertised services. Everyone else is a reseller. Before you open a webhost, be sure you know how to deal with customers tickets (database issues, php commands), these are all basic things needed to know before you up and think you're going to run a hosting website.

loltayber first of all, there is absolutely nothing wrong with OVH. (Aquatis uses them for few nodes and you get absolutely no lag, haha.) Secondly, if you are going to start a hosting company create a unique business plan. Don't be or act like competitors or no one will notice you. Third of all, be sure you have a big budget, most people start of $100 and then they end up absolutely no where. I suggest starting off with $1000 just to start off for your website, hardware, and advertisement. Lastly, stay consistant, make sure you have a plan and stick to it. For example, you want have 24/7/365 support, find capible candidates and make sure you have an established support team. There are many more things I can ramble about but here are the basics. If you need anymore help, PM me. Other than that, good luck with your journey.

First of all, of course, you need money. And when I'm talking about money I'm not talking about $30 for a domain and themeforest template.

Unless you're a skilled webdev with at least two years experience you will always need to have third party software such as WHMCS and Multicraft.

A hosting provider isn't just about a small website, it needs a clear structure and is based on trust.

You need a domain, trusted partners and good staff members that, again, you simply have to trust.

You should begin with looking for the right partners - just message a few companies or datacenters such as Accelerated or Firstcolo (both are german ones, sorry for that) and simply go ahead and compare.

I wouldn't start renting colo space right away if you don't have the money and experience for it, I don't see something bad in renting hardware as it most times really is cheaper nowadays.

I don't want to talk about that too much, you can get my ebook "How I sold my first Minecraft servers" soon :p

Just kidding. You can always contact me if you have any questions.

I hope I was able to help you!
