Hello people from MCM, I am Freddy aka Salvation I just want to ask people to help start a server not literally but giving me advice. In terms of developers and server host, it has been sorted out but other aspects that need to set up a successful server feel free to comment or dm me on discord (Salvation#2719) to inform me in depth.

You need a unique idea that no one else has done before.

Very few servers have done that tbh... even most of the big servers don't do that. They either go with the trends (which most businesses do) or go with the trends and give a little tweaking to them. But yeah, I totally agree with Sean G. - if you make a server that's unique and follows what's trending then that is a lot of work, but it should pay off. Advertising is also a very huge key. Personally all my friends and I like a game that has a grinding feel to it.

Judging by your name and that you're a new member I suggest you don't start a server. The market is very very saturated and you'll find it difficult and time consuming to make money because 1. you need to have a unique idea or atleast a few custom features that no one else has. 2. you need to have knowledge of how to run a server like fixing bugs, making sure you don't crash on release, managing players, staff, chargebacks, etc. For the time it takes nowadays I wouldn't consider it worth it unless you're very experienced, have money and have a unique idea.

Jaykk has a solid point tbh. But then again now a days 13 year olds can make a server and make an easy couple of thousand by just having the staff, some advertising and a popular trending theme. For example a bunch of kids make anime based servers and same ideas and same crap, but they make a couple of thousand easily. As for a successful server, I'd agree with Jaykk. You need the knowledge, man power and like godly implied, "a big boy budget"/invest into the project.
