Starting up a custom setup service as a branch of my company.

So I've been thinking about this for a while.

I've ran and made minecraft servers since 2012 and have been programming for nearly as long as that, I was thinking about making a custom setup service, that's custom, meaning that the setup comes with custom plugins as standard, and to request.

My question is that I have no idea how this works, does setups include artwork etc? Or is it just configurations, builds etc?

Also how much would it be for a full proper setup from scratch that higher paying clients would use? My aim here is to make another side business along with development as I feel like people would be interested in HQ custom servers to order.

It all depends on what you want to offer in your setups. The average setup servicer on MCM offers you the plugins, configurations, builds (sometimes), and server economy. However, if you'd like to offer a higher quality setup company than the others, including art and builds would be a very nice decision. You can partner up with an artist and/or builder to provide those services to clients if they would like them as part of the setup, no need to make them mandatory as the client may already have those done.

The pricing of your service honestly depends on the quality as well as which gamemode/server the client would like. Some setups will cost more than others solely based on how hard that specific gamemode would be to create. If you can include custom and public plugins, configurations, builds, and art all to a high standard then I'm sure you can charge a generous amount of money.

I would personally recommend charging whatever price you feel it is worth. I wouldn't work for less money than you already do, and you could easily negotiate prices with a buyer. Good luck!
