i agree. Most new HCF severs don't do well & won't do well unless you have a bunch of big youtubers being apart of the ownership.
Or unless you have added new features into hcf that people have recommended and like. Every hcf server nowadays is the same, same leaked para plugins(most servers only like 7 use fully 100% custom), same events, same everything.

+1, new hcf servers don't do well because they aren't original, something like all new classes could make the difference though between a successful new server and hcf server with 5 players on it. but instead everyone just does the same thing and it doesn't work out
You are 100 % right on this one ! Also successful servers don't need to pay youtubers to make videos on their servers...

Do people understand that there are to many hcf servers ? Most of them wont even work do to the lack of originality from the owners... ALl those shitty hcf want to copy big servers like hcteams... Glowstone muntain, elevator, Citadel ect... If you want a server that will work you need a something special on the server you are making ....

Sorry for my english i'm french.. I hope that i'm not the only one who feels the same about all these shitty hcf servers...
Everyone needs to start somewhere IMO. :)

I say let people do what they want, there are several factions or kitpvp related servers, why are they popular? Advertisement, custom and uniqueness doesn't matter much, as long as it's fun, no bugs, good hit detection and kb, people will play on it.

I've ran fully custom networks with everything 100% custom and unique, they do the same as non custom or unique, I don't know if it's just me, but eh.

Also, most people in this community will just assume you are using leaked plugins even if you have your own hcf core, ect.

Copying a current gamemode, its okay as long as you somehow develop enough unique features to retain loyal players to create a unique community. Out of every server, only their community is unique, despite their oversaturation of plugins that can be downloaded for free on spigot etc.

Making a unique community takes time, and many small servers fail. That's my opinion on this. I agree there is a terrible lack of creativity in new gamemodes, but just think about why that is. Its not easy to just make a new idea and ask around "Hey wanna make this for me? I'll give you admin and shit, I don't have money". People dont care of privileges on a server that may never take off with playerbase to rise high and make profit. They want quick money.

This is in the wrong section but hey I still wanna take part here.

It's not "STOP MAKING HCF SERVERS". It never was. I don't play minecraft much, when I did it was all about "STOP MAKING ... SERVERS" aswell (Can't remember what gamemode was "getting old"). But it's not. The point of this thread should be "If your server isn't unique and has something that attracts players, don't be surpised when it doesn't succeed. There are tons of plain servers with the same concept, that being said making servers based on popular concepts like KitPVP, Skyblock, HCF, etc. isn't bad. It's just that your server probably won't get too much success with a plain concept that most server has. It doesn't matter how good it is. Tons of servers are great HCF servers, that being said there are tons of servers doing that.
So who cares? If someone wants to make a server with a concept that's widely used, that someone sure as hell is welcome to do it. I can open a vanilla server that's just a plain world and I'll probably have 0 players per month. Sure it sucks, but I can do whatever the hell I want.

My philosophy is, the larger servers will get larger, the smaller servers will seize to exist.
