This is what I said about it.
There are already flaws with the rating system, instead of fixing the current flaws the system gets renamed and gets an additional rating.
Now as morganjp says. There should be a compromise for this you know. One side give up one thing and the other side gives up one thing, and the sides are happy. Ex. I like about disagree but not advertising at all. However half of the people want advertising and hates disagree while the other half wants disagree but hates advertising. Maybe add both to the solution to satisfied both sides. So having disagree and advertising makes everyone problem solved.
Maybe the solution is to not fuck up the site and change things just for the hell of it.

I don't see any problem with how it was before.
Ratings were very rarely confused with reputation. The few times it was, other users quickly explained they aren't reputation. The majority of the people who were against ratings are people who were newer and weren't as reputable as the older, more trusted vetaran members of the site. It seemed like they wanted to be trusted like the reputable members but also wanted to have it the easy way and not have to earn it like we did. I also should add that despite ratings not being reputation, the majority of people who had the most ratings were trusted, valued members of the community. They got ratings by contributing to discussions, making useful posts and being an overall good member of the site - something that few scammers would waste the time doing. In fact, the only members banned from the most ratings list was either for something petty like forgetting to return a $20 loan like LeCat or something rare like Jurhed's exit scam which can't be prevented by any system whatsoever.
There were very few problems with how it was before. Honestly if anything, this caused more problems. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

I'd have to 100% agree with that, and this report will most likely get denied because Rocket wants it his way. As monty said, this site is becoming one big meme and the only way we can stop that is making it how it was before and fixing the things that actually NEED fixing instead of adding a new rating that's clearly going to get abused when your site is aimed at teenagers.
I prefer it the old way. If you don't agree with someone simply leave a comment about it or simply don't rate it. This website doesn't allow a ton of stuff because 'little kids' come on here, but how do you think changing the damn site every week makes a kid feel? Kids can't adapt to changes as easily! Most of them don't even understand the term vouch to begin with. I felt like the older way was simple, easy to understand and perfect the way it was.
Look the only problem with change is when they change something that isn't broken. The ratings were not broken and needed no change. Similar to the trade reputation system that failed, this is failing too. just revert it back to the way it was and we can all enjoy the rest of this update. +1
This site was an absolute disease before changes were pushed down, to the point where Mojang employee said you were all a bunch of dicks. He couldn't stand being here. You think this is even remotely a constructive Minecraft marketplace? This place was a joke and is slowly going to the cleaner side and I think it's a bunch of changes to make this a more strengthened marketplace.

Actually, like every change, you whine initially and eventually adjust. A little baby whining about tiny stuff that separates this place from the hack forums it was initially is a change for the better, towards a reputable marketplace. Give it two weeks and you'll be thanking this change.

This is a problem. The fact that you're complaining here shows how staff do NOT work as a team. All staff should be discussing decisions and problems should be discussed internally. This just shows communication is limited and it tells us you guys have no sense of management. Fix this, too.

It makes the site better because it clarifies the whole reputation bull you guys have followed since day one. It makes it worse because...? Because you can't give "reputation" anymore? Irrelevant. It's not at Doge at all, I'm sure he's talking here because he's given no chance to express his beliefs with the staff. My complaint is with the management as a whole. Staff should be discussing collectively to reach the best decision and avoid surprise, and also show a sense of teamwork. If that isn't happening, something is wrong with the system, not with an individual. So it's not on Doge, it's on the system.
Clearly you don't pay much attention on these forums. The majority of active members have claimed multiple times that ratings were never reputation. It's just a fun way to rate people's posts. Only new members actually believe that it counts towards a users reputation. Also with Doge. Do you honestly expect every staff member to have the exact same opinion on matters? - You also fail to explain the problem with renaming it, other than stating *some* users understood the difference but still didn't apply it
Regarding Doge, you clearly don't know how a staff team works. What would you think if you went up to a law firm and their management and bitching around disagreeing in front of you (the client). Staff may not have the same opinion, but they discuss internally to generate the best result and to avoid surprise, and maintain professionalism. I won't repeat that again. You're probably too young to understand how teams function.
I could effectively run a Minecraft marketplace and have ran several marketplaces in the past. This forum, I wouldn't want to deal with idiots like yourself. I have respect for BeBosny and rocket, for attempting to make right decisions amongst kids that lack the fundamental understanding of life. I don't have respect for most other staff, though, if any. I'm going to guess you don't participate on many forums if you think this is key behaviour. And as a user of this site, I can comment on the behaviour of its management, the same management that received money for my continued membership (although not from me) and from many others. We all have the right to question its management and function.

Honestly you're just silly. This isn't communist Russia. Most jobs allow their employees to voice their opinion on matters. This isn't a big law firm so let's not pretend it is worth comparing it to Mc-Market. Also "some" users understood. No the majority of users understood. New members who dedicated time eventually figured the system out. Also, you don't know much about me because I've been on many staff teams. Unlike you I wouldn't talk condescendingly towards everyone and consider people idiots for not sharing a likeminded opinion. Also don't try and tell people how the Mc-Market staff team works when you know absolutely nothing about it. You're not on it and have no idea how they go about doing updates. Last thing, the fundamental understanding of life. You're going to sit here and tell me on a video game sales forum how life works. I doubt anyone on here has figured that one out yet.

Although I didn't really like the changes in the beginning, and yes I still do not, I realized that change happens. Change is hard but once people start getting used to this new change it will be easier to adapt to the changes.
Regarding the issue with Doge, I'm almost 100% sure that Doge had no say in these changes and this was an administrative decision between rocket and maybe Mick.
I am slowly realizing that rocket did this to make MCM better; and the reason people are so unwelcome to this is because the way they are running their services and all have to do with vouch copies and other things. With the new system, vouch copies are being given falsely as the numbers haven't been fully recounted yet.
I agree with you that users should be able to comment on the way administration are handling things. We should definitely have a say.... I'm sure the majority of the community would say no to the changes because of their lack of perception.
I understand that it is hard for many users to see that this change will bring benefit and I still am struggling to see the benefits, but it happened, and it is for the better. It's rather sad that people are leaving because of this.
