Stop Scammers.

Hello,

I was just browsing trough MCM today when a brilliant idea plopped up in my head.

Ofcourse, everyone has thought of ways on stopping scammers. Most of them, being pretty unlikely and just fantasy.

I've thought of a system, that could help us stop scamming on MC-Market.

I bring you: MC-Market Credit.

How do you buy an OG with MC-Market Credit?
Step 1: Buy MCM Credit trough PayPal.
Step 2: Pay another user your MCM Credit (Trough a custom payment system owned by MCM)
Step 3: The user gives you the account details.

Having a system like this, would allow MCM staff to give back the credits, if a player was ever scammed.
For example you paid someone $50 in MCM credits, the user decides to scam you: you make a scam report, it gets accepted: staff will give your credits back.

Selling an OG:
How does this work?
1: You tell a payer to give you an amount of MCM credit
2: The user sends you the funds
3: You send him the account details
4: You transfer your MCM credits, onto your PayPal. Mc-market gets a small % of this.

Alright, that's it!
Ofcourse I know, this is very unlikely to happen. It just popped up in my mind. And I decided to share the idea!

This has been suggested several times in the past and in several different ways.
Personally, I like the basic idea of this; however, I haven't seen or thought of a method of doing this that is:
- Legal
- Effective
- Plausible

Keep in mind how much risk/liability we'd be placing on ourselves.

another forum does this and it seems to work pretty ok so far, I can see how it could be exploited though, you could just chargeback the credits

I worry this method would be abused, like people faking to be scammed just for their "credits" back.

Its been suggested before, but this would put MCM's staff at fault if a user felt the system was unfair and unfairly ruled by a scam resolver or such. Also not to mention how much protocol would we have to put into place to ensure users cant just cash out to their paypal and run with the money into a bank account or such?

Not to mention the massive development and financial investment this idea would take. Hate to be pessimistic but this is a marketplace, even a system like this can't prevent all scamming.

Possibly allow a deal system, an automated middleman addition, you buy credits Might not even need credits but the payment is not made until a file is uploaded or whatnot, if it's an image it would show a watermarked version, in a plugin it would require staff middleman, maybe a middleman role to manually review some transactions. Not a bad idea its good but what if the person cashes out? Mcm can't just give the person $50 worth of credits because then they lose money.

This is just an idea, obviously there is alot wrong and alot is unclear. Obviously, like every other thing there has to be worked on in multiple ways, to prevent ways of going around the system.

A system like this could never really work for a few reasons, with chargebacks being the largest problem I think. A system like this wouldn't prevent scamming, it would simply shift the scam over from the buyer/seller losing money to MC-Market losing money.

I'm not sure how that would work or how hard it would be to make however that is possibly your best bet at
stopping chargebacks.

First off, you want to add buycraft to a fucking forum? Its not made for that and ofc they would stop the service, secondly, thats just stupid and would be very complicated and never work

Cant you people just use your brain before dealing and think proper and you wont get scammed.
