Using these formal conversation practices does exactly that for users who choose to convey themselves in a professional manner. They are practicing their formal business language for their upcoming maturity into the adult work force. It is always better to practice now and master later.

I can see why you may feel that many users here use it as a "snobbish" or "childish" method of being two faced and full of themselves to sound smarter, but the real world workforce does expect this kind of language. It is used to convey civility, clarity, and ultimately designed to be efficient since the way people communicate is always full of nuances that are lost through text based communication.

Here’s my message to everybody else:

You all are 14 and 15-year olds. You all are not adults. You all are not “business professionals”. You are working for other people under the age of 18 for a “company” that isn’t legally registered and can’t get you to legally sign a contract.

This is on MC-Market, which in case you didn’t know, isn’t regarded for being a very welcoming and friendly environment.

I have been where you were. I’ve had two profile pictures made by Xyrise (the same artist that makes the stereotypical profile pictures). I’ve called myself an “entrepreneur”. I’ve called myself a “business professional”.

I got kicked from the Minecraft Business Community Discord server for saying something similar, but I’ll say it again: These “management” positions won’t due a lick of good on an actual resume.

If you make $200/month, that’s really good for somebody aged 14-15. You likely have no bills to pay, and that can go a long way. However I’d suspect you don’t make $200/month “managing” Minecraft servers and “companies” (they aren’t companies).

tl;dr: You are a 14/15 year old kid, you are not an entrepreneur. You are not a business professional. You are advertising these services on MC-Market of all places. You will receive a lot of criticism and be made fun of. It’s healthy to not take this stuff so seriously. As you get older you’ll realize you can’t make a living online in Minecraft.

Nobody talks like that in the real world. At least, I have not met anyone that talks like that in the real world. Sure there are people out there, but they're usually the type of people that have others make decisions for themselves. This language is not "efficient" because people making sentences as complex as possible just to sound "professional" just takes more time and causes misunderstandings.

LinkedIn users and professional networking over emails (yes emails, not forum posts, not texting phone numbers) use professional "jargon". Could you give an example of the jargon you've seen users been perhaps misusing here?

Firstly, multiple people make over $200/month on management. Second, people do work for companies and corporations. Just because your interpretation of the average manager doesn’t make money or doesn’t work for registered entities doesn’t mean it isn’t a thing. Also, as a 15 year old who has profited from multiple projects I call myself an entrepreneur. Why? Because I’m comfortable. Of course, I don’t have as many expenses as a middle aged person. That means nothing. You can easily be an entrepreneur who’s generated millions and use this website as a hobby.
