Good Morning,

I'd like for BBB to start sending HTTP Referer headers when links are clicked on the site.

This will assist creators and service providers with SEO and knowing exactly where their traffic is coming from.

All links currently clicked in BBB do not provide a HTTP Referer and therefore we can only track via UTM links in places we can control, but certain links are not able to be set with UTM. Having an HTTP Referer header will further assist with tracking where users are coming from.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

It looks like our Referrer-Policy is already 'strict-origin-when-cross-origin' so this should already be the case. Testing with the website in your profile it included 'Referer: https://builtbybit.com'. Or are you saying we should lift the strict aspect of this, so that the request paths are included?

It seems that whatever you did worked. Testing it myself - I never got the result of it being https://builtbybit.com.

The link you clicked showed my analytics api "https://builtbybit.com/members/jared-ic.421303/" which is correct based on what steps you attempted.

When clicking custom links in threads, like my System Administration thread's "Terms of Service" link, it does not send the referer and is listed as a direct connection to the URL. This is where I believe we need to add referer headers. I

EDIT: I removed my IP record and connected through a Test Link from the thread with no UTM added, it showed the referer. I think all is well and I was just overthinking things.

Per-page referer though would be helpful to see which post/signature/etc; the click came from. Would be neat to see.

Thank you for looking into this!
