Now I know you never said you were a designer but it is our job to take in a clients request(I want a logo) and the info about their company. We then design it, not the client as a designer should know more about design than the client.

Another thing, if you look at the cards in Minecraft they seem low resolution, to combat this I would design with flat colors, as these would appear best, with the Gaussian blur background there are not enough blocks in the game to emulate every single pixel, and each one of those pixels are a different color.
