Warning, this thread will be highly controversial

Hello all, its that time of the year, where that one controversial thread is posted. So lets get into it. Basically, going to this thread here (https://www.mc-market.org/threads/534800/page-2), and I would honestly have to agree. Account selling, including social media, minecraft, fortnite, etc. will have to be removed if this forum intends on becoming a legitimate market. At the moment the rules are contradicting themselves. The market is basically saying that some black hat deals are allowed while others are not. This market is honestly being hurt more by the account selling sections than they are being helped, sure it may generate alot of money, but there is the constant risk of scamming, and not to mention that having these sections here can cause the site alot of trouble.

I personally own a few companies that generate money. I want to keep them professional looking, and I also want to hire some of the talented freelancer via this website, but I wont do it because I do not want any of my companies associated with a semi black market. So, my question is, will you be a black market or not? You cant have a double standard. Make up your mind Mick @JustisR.

Things change, and things evolve, we can still be a respectable market, it isnt too late. Do some brain storming, and you can experiment with many other sections to replace the account selling section. It may not be as profitable, but one day, you may just find something that does not break TOS, and is just as profitable.

Removing the black hat parts of the forum may be profitable and will make this community more respectable, but do things with a plan, alot of the current people may leave if you remove the section, so you must do something that will lure a new generation of people here. You may even attract legitimate companies, as you will become a legitimate company once you remove the illegal parts of the website.

If you are rude or passive aggressive to my opinion, you will be ignored, but if you are willing to debate like a reasonable person, ill debate right back at ya.

The only way that I could think of this not happening is only high tier members can sell these accs so people that have a lot of rep or been on the site and active since that’s the least likely way to get scammed when buying.

All of the answers to why removing the MANY, many sections and sub forums that this "Consistency change" would remove are all over the thread you quoted in the beginning. You don't seem to have read many of the in-depth and detailed responses on that thread. I can outline some of them here:

- It is not black hat. What is blackhat is what was happening before which was alt sellers on this website which allowed hacking/cracking. That is ILLEGAL hence why it is deemed "black hat activity". Breaking a company's terms of service, EULA or guidelines is not illegal. These terms are rules set by the company and it is the company's job to police this and judge whether it is worth their time to take any action. In the case of MCM having account sellers on it, Mojang would have taken action long ago if it was deemed worth it or found to be hurting their profits in any way. (this is why sharing of licenses is not allowed in most TOS agreements)

- The amount of scam reports or scams that go on in the account selling section may be higher. Guess why? Because it is by far the most active marketplace section on the forum. The only reason why there aren't as many threads is because as Doge said in the main suggestion thread, most sellers delete the thread after the account has been sold and also due to the removal of the section in 2016, the threads were all lost then. TLDR Bigger section = more scam reports

- Your point about being precious about your companies is complete bullshit. If you want to hire a freelancer you do just that.. Hire a freelancer. You could have found that freelancer by hearing their name from a group of drug addicts taking cocaine on the street. Does that make the freelancer in some kind of partnership representing those coke addicts? no. In the same way, a freelancer on here is in no way a representative of the site. The site may facilitate you to find a freelancer but that doesn't make your precious company suddenly black hat and illegal because you hired someone who marketed themselves on a non black hat part of a sub forum that may or may not have black hat activity on it. Grow up.

I'd like to ask how the account selling section "hurts" the forum as a whole? That was never expanded upon and seems like quite an empty arguing point.

Well, it seems like MCM is moving in the right direction. Looks like the loans forum will be removed soon, and there's been talks about the MC account selling being removed too.

I just think you're being a little too gung ho about it. Why all of the sudden?
