Hello everyone.

I am here to propose my idea for a Minecraft crowdfunding platform. I don't really have the name figured out yet and need suggestions.

So...
Do you know about some popular crowdfunding sites such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo? If so, you'll understand what crowdfunding is. If you don't, please read this article for clarification (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowdfunding).

What I was thinking about was a crowdfunding platform for Minecraft servers and networks. As you know, it isn't cheap to run a Minecraft server. Especially a good one. All of the bills and prices pile up to the point where you couldn't just have money out of your pocket to run it. Now, with this platform you could easily create a project, name it, set your goal, put what this server is about, setup the prizes for backers, then start your campaign. It really would only take you 15 minutes to 1 hour to create a really good project crowdfunding campaign.

This idea seems pretty cool to me and I'd like to do it. But first of course, I would like some feedback and suggestions for the platform and of course the name!

Thank you,
Phewo

Sound great. Especially if server owners can have a certain percentage go back to donors. I'm definitly on board.

The concept is interesting, but here's my answer after some thinking.

My vote is a no. Most minecraft server ideas are never executed in the first place. People will be wasting their time and money with no guarantee that it's going anywhere. At least with most other crowdfunding/organizations your money is guaranteed to go somewhere useful. If you really need an investment, your best bet is to just post it on here. Honestly if people aren't getting investments using a popular website like mcm, then they're going to get zilch donations somewhere else.

For servers that are already established, there is no point of crowdfunding. That's what their server donation store is for. I don't think many people want to donate to a server (despite of a cool idea) if they aren't affiliated with them in any way.

You're better of founding a business which adds to a profitable industry.

There's already places people can go to pitch their server ideas in order to ask for a loan / free hosting to start their server (MC-Market, MinecraftForum, Spigot probably?, etc).

They usually go nowhere.
