Yeah totally right in a sense. I've seen the coverage of people talking about the usage of the unbadged android tv boxes. The ones in particular I've use are Google Certified, so they are built with malware protection from factory by google, just like android phones. These are particularly sourced from a manufacture with a good reputation, I did factor this into consideration on market research. But I've totally avoided going with the cheap tiktok shop / ebay brand for that reason.
