Tell us when our ad will be posted

In theory I'd like to buy an ad, but not knowing when it'll be approved or posted kills any interest I have in doing so. If I have a bunch of clients on the week it goes up, or I'm super busy at work and don't have any free time, I'm not going to be able to take advantage of it.

Knowing where I am in the queue and when it'll be posted will make me a hell of a lot more likely to buy an ad, because then at least I'll be able to plan around it.

Also FWIW 3 months from creation to invoice is not going to make me want to buy anything.

I am not sure if it’s possible for users to see where they are in the queue but they won’t be able to tell you when your ad will go up because no one can tell when an ad will get extended and for how long.

I expected that to be the case but there's no reason why we couldn't have an updating counter or something. In any case it's a pain, so I'd welcome any alternative solutions.

In our migration to XF2 we intend to redevelop our ads manager completely rather than using an off-the-shelf addon. With this, we'll be able to completely customise it to work for our needs.

As Eclipse has said it is impossible for us to tell you when your ad will go up, or even give a rough approximation. In some forums I know that the people who currently have the stickies hasn't changed for over a year now, and so if you're in the queue after them you're basically out of luck and have to wait for them to stop paying for or be unable to afford the ad.

What I do want to do though is make it very clear what the queue in each position is like before you purchase your ad, and after you purchase it you'll be able to check what your current position in the queue is.

I'll move this to denied as we will not be making this change on XF1 however. Thank you for the suggestion.
