Greetings,

The ownership team at The Arctane Network want to branch out yet again.
We are doing recruitment for 3 different positions on our server for the final time before release. This recruitment phase will last until April 7th, after that applications for everything will be closed. Please note we are in development.

We've recently cleared out inactive members that have been inactive for more than a week without warning. With doing that some positions have opened up and we are happy to get them filled. We will currently only be accepting helpers unless a decision is come to by senior staff to place you in a higher position. Below you will find a full list of the positions open and what they will be doing.

Helper:
Helper is the beginning rank of the team. As a helper your main role is handling players and chat in discord and the server. The helper trial period usually lasts around two weeks. After your trial is up we will decide to leave you as helper or move you to junior mod based on how you handled players.

Designers:
Designers are a major asset to us at this given time. We have been searching around to find a great designer to purchase the art from (suggestions are appreciated). On top of this we are hoping to bring together a small design team for the server so we can have designers on standby and get server art done.

Builders:
Builders are an extreme asset to our team. Without builders working to progress our maps we can't release on our hoped date. Builders will work on everything ranging from spawns to separate maps. They of course will have creative and a chance to show their skills.

Alpha Testers:
The alpha testers will be useful for our early stage of progress. When we release our closed beta alpha testers will be on testing for bugs/exploits/glitches and issues within the server. These members will be kept on standby for around a week.

Now that you have seen our open positions its time to get to the requirements and formats as well as rules.

Requirements to apply:

-Must be 14 or older
-Must be active 4 hours per day
-Must act professional
-Must keep a mature attitude
-Can not argue
-Must work well with a team
-Must have discord and be eligible to get slack
-Must not lie to look good

Punishment system:
We have a punishment system set in place to keep staff in line. This is a military like system to make sure everything is in order. We have set in place a mark system, if you break a rule or are down right ignorant you will receive a mark and consequences. Three marks will result in demotion and or removal within the team. If you are removed due to this you will get a semi restricted forums account for 1 week and be banned from reapplying. This can result in a ban varying on offence.

If you resign however you will receive an Ex-Staff rank on our forum and the discord. You will get a rank on the server with a few thrown in perks thanking you for working with us. (we can withdraw the perks if you didn't do your job and resigned before punishment).

This system is put in place to keep everyone well organized and mature. We expect all staff to follow the guidelines and rules just as the players do. Staff are not "above players". Many staff will either fail to do their job or abuse their power. With this system in place we hope to limit that and keep everything orderly.

1.Spamming:
-Do not spam the chat with useless banter
-Keep full-caps in chat to at least 2-4 words

2.Advertising:
-Advertising of any kind is strictly prohibited and will result in a full ban from all Arctane servers with no appeals allowed.

3.Staff/Player disrespect:
-Be respectful, staff are here to help you and everyone else!
-Don't hate on players, be respectful. They are here to have fun!

4.Unapproved links:
-Unapproved links include but are not limited too: Pornographic sites, virus/spam links, NSFW sites, saying any of these in chat will result in a punishment from a mute to a ban according to a number of times said, what site and what staff member takes care of this offense.

5.Exploiting Bugs/Glitches:
-If you find a glitch, bug, or exploit, report it to staff immediately.
-Abusing any exploit/bug is prohibited and will result in a temporary ban from the server ( first offense )

6.Hacking or any unfair modification:
-Hacking is strictly prohibited and will result in a ban from our servers with no appeal.
- Prohibited mods: x-ray, flight mods, clients ( more included, check the banned mods page here:
-Acceptable mods: Mini-map, Armour HUD, Better Sprinting Mod, etc.
-Optifine and other mods such as Labby mod are allowed.
*If you want to know whether a specific mod is allowed, ask staff*

7.Death Threats or DDos/Doxing Threats:
-Arctane has a zero tolerance for DDoS threats. Doing so will result in an IP-Ban from all of our networks
-Death Threats are also not allowed, be respectful to others!

8.Ban evasion:
-If you a€re banned and log on to another account to play, that's called ban evading. Doing so will result in a IP-Ban from the server.

9.Fake Servers List/PMC
-If you say that you are from an online servers list/server reviewing company and ask for OP/GMC, you will be punished to a perm ban.

General Rules:

3. Do not ask for a staff rank.

4. Do not ask staff for items.

5. Do not harass or disrespect other players/staff.

6. Do not accuse people of hacks. If you have proof, report the player on the forums.

7. Do not swear, the only words that pass this rules are 'Crap', 'Dammit', 'Damn' and 'Hell'

Although I'd like to give a vouch for Dudd, Artcane's Lead Staff team are just out of whack. The group first started as a team that would become staff on a server together, which then molded into being a server out of the blue with no vote from the other team members.

Weirdly enough, even though I was on Discord pretty much all day at the time, I was still recognized as being inactive and not doing my job as a Manager (which I never was told what I would be taking care of). I have plenty of friends and peers who can vouch for me that I am certainly very active throughout the day, whether it'd be on MCM Skype Discord or TS.

Unless you want to deal with unorganized leadership and unfair punishments, I suggest not applying. Best of luck Dudd!

The server part was voted up by members you were inactive at the time. The way I run my team may be different from the way you work. Everyone works in different ways. As for leadership it has changed a lot in terms of organization and punishments. You were removed from the team on a vote, we didn't necessarily need you anymore. It has nothing to do with your activity we simply didn't need you so we removed you.

Your website seems useless in terms of telling me what gamemodes the server offers. Could you please explain them to me?

Of course, my apologies we are working on fully confirming everything. We have confirmed at least 4 gamemodes. We will be doing skyblock (not op), it will have a few twists and extra additions to make it a bit more fun to the player. Skywars will be a gamemode to appeal to those players that prefer competitive fun without having to deal with factions or something. We will have factions, we are currently deciding on extra features for it such as custom enchants and things like that. We will also have creative just to appeal to those players that like to relax kick back and build with input from others.[DOUBLEPOST=1490699647][/DOUBLEPOST]

But you needed the other members so clearly there was a reason I was removed from the team? I was told by both your Co-Owners I was demoted for inactivity? And then when I was a Chat-Mod I was demoted because I was inactive again which was clearly false?

Inactivity was "a part" of it I guess you could say, we didn't see much of you talking wise though you didn't have much reason to as your given role. The co owners decided the demotion was "valid" I had input but they insisted, since then we have changed up the ownership team to capable people. We have had great progress within our leadership team not only with skill but reliability and cooperativeness. As for chat mod I can see now that role didn't suit your skills. We made some stupid mistakes in our early days yes I can admit, nobody is perfect. I can promise now though we have grown since then.

My apologies I didn't make it clear, we are currently in a development stage with our server. Getting maps art and the server done. We plan to release a full beta by May 25th, hopefully it would happen sooner though.

I see, if full release is planned for two months from now, what is the rush for Helpers, Mods and up?

It's not necessarily a rush so to say. We want to gain some helpers in the coming days to "fill" the team. Helpers are needed for chat managing and player stuff. We don't want to rush it nor wait too long. We really are only accepting helpers with the occasional exception. We are replacing lost staff at this given point.

I know what helpers are there for. But when you don't have a playerbase, let alone a working server. Helpers are going to get bored and undoubtedly inactive until there is real work for them. My question is why didn't the server wait a bit before releasing this post?

We have members circulating our discord server waiting for the release. It is coming soon enough, Our staff team our active enough answering questions when people have them. The helpers are there because we want a decent staff team before our release. As I said this is our final recruitment thread, we are filling up on staff now and we are done recruiting. The main purpose of this thread was technically the Designers and Builders though helper is still an option as is tester. We are growing by the day with the server up or not, plus the helpers will be busy helping the rest of the staff with their duties.

I do indeed care about my server, I have no reason to get upset or angry over feedback or questions. I'm happy to hear all the feedback on anything really. I thank you for not being ignorant as many people are when they criticize and question.
