There's a ton of things you can do with a domain, you can even build a we site by using 000webhost, which is free hosting for domains. You can even use Zyro Web builder.
Most popular things people do with domains: resell it, make it a personal page, use it as a Web service (NameMc for example), or even park it to get money (through advertisers)

They owned the domain before the trademark was registered and are not profiting off Minecraft's name so it is completely different.
