Of virtual lego game, chill fam.

TL;DW - Microsoft bought Mojang and microsoft likes money. Essentially they are basically stopping support for java version, renaming it to "Experimental" version. In hopes to kill popularity of it and get people to move to Windows 10 edition where they will be selling maps, texturepacks, mods etc. Essentially making it expensive to get the things people play minecraft for in the first place.

I'm pretty sure the end is near for PC.

UPDATE: Dug into it, there still will be updates, we aren't getting abandoned, though the focus is shifting to the console peasants. Basically, the majority of the community is gonna get screwed over (having to pay for maps and whatnot) and we are gonna become essentially test subjects to the updates they want to push out.

They're not stopping support, unless you mean they're not gonna update it after 1.13? Dafuq are you complaining about? half the java community is complaining that all updates after 1.8 (or in some cases, 1.7) are absolutely terrible, so I'd think they would be happy.
Everyone knows MS bought mojang, that's been a thing for years now.
The marketplace is nice and all, but java is anything but dead. I give it 3-5 years before the userbase will start feeling a bit stale, yet until there is support for all those custom content tools for the other versions, there'll still be loads of interest for java.

And since java is currently not compatible with the mobile platforms, I doubt mojang are gonna give a shit what we do with the stuff we sell. So no fucks given about the whole marketplace business.
Besides, this has been around for well over a month now. What type of rock do you live under?
