So what is The Gamers Grotto?
The Gamers Grotto is a unique minecraft server project. I guarantee that you've never seen another server like The Grotto. I'm doing everything to make sure that this server is the next best thing. The Gamers Grotto has been around for almost a year. However, it's mostly been in development and has been published only once for the purpose of testing and gaining feedback. I've been creating ideas and making plans for the most part. I've redone certain aspects of the server multiple times over this past year in order to ensure quality, perfection and uniqueness. With as much time and energy as I've put in to this project, I can assure you that this is truly going to be one of the coolest servers ever.
The Gamers Grotto will truly be like no other. In fact, we're making more than a minecraft server. We're making a dream - a community - a living world with endless opportunity. This will be a server with everything, a massive world that will appeal to everyone's interest. If you like arcade games and gamemodes based off of other popular games, we'll have it. If you like classic factions and survival, we have that, but we also have improved, amped up versions of survival and factions that are way more interactive and immersive. If you like normal gameplay, we have it. If you want to really get in to things, you can create your own cities - your own nation. You can rule over your own little slice of the server and call it your own!
All of the information this thread gives you about this server, is only 25% of what it's really about. There's a 10 part Manifesto that goes over every detail, idea and plan for The Gamers Grotto project. I'm very serious and ambitious about this.
This is a server for your every day gamer, and for the ambitious and motivated players who want more from this game.
Why does this project need a build team?
As I've stated, I'm making this one of the most awesome, badass servers. I need skilled, optimistic and ready-to-learn members for my build team. There's much that I want to create and do with this server, but I don't want to make this thread too long so I'll only go over what we need to build.
The picture above is the city I made. It was almost entirely built by me and it sits in the middle of a beautiful custom terrain world. Currently, I'm still making the custom world and am open to input and help from others! Across this world, I want to create multiple villages and towns, cities of all types and whatever else we can think of. We also need game maps of course.
If you join The Gamers Grotto Build Team, you will be given a lot of opportunity for creative freedom. If you have unique and original building ideas and if you feel motivated to create your own towns, cities or empires, then THIS is the build team for you.
What do we need to build?
We need to build game maps/arenas, towns & cities, dungeons, fortresses, battle towers, anything we can think of. Whatever we build must serve a purpose (pve/pvp, rpg, eco survival, towny).

Is there any pay? What's in it for you?
I'm trying to create a server that may eventually be profitable. This build team is for a server and as long as you participate and put your effort in to the server and our projects, the more likely we will be of becoming successful and profitable. The more likely that you will be paid. You'll get back what you put in. However, we have to make a name and reputation for this team before any of us deserve any sort of compensation. We need to show that we are a valuable build team before we can make money.
Eventually, the top builders and project leaders (basically anyone who puts maximum effort) will eventually be paid. Even before we start making profit from the server, however before there's any compensation we have to have results.
How can you join the team?
First of all, you need to have some sort of skill. Are you a builder, interior designer, map maker/terraformer? Are you capable of using worldedit and/or voxelsniper? As long as you can contribute in some way, or if you are willing to learn, you can be a part of the build team!

Additional Information
I've been working on minecraft servers for 6 years now. I've also been building for about 3. I have a lot of experience and a lot of skill. I can code (php, css, html, js, java) I can use world painter and world machine, I can build of course, and I can even do a bit of GFX and video production. And not that this skill applies to mc, but I can produce electronic music as well. My point is, I'm capable of doing a lot for a minecraft server and with that I can assure you that The Gamers Grotto is a very unique server project that I've put maximum effort in to.
I've applied all of my skills to this server in order to make it the best it can be. I'm very serious about The Grotto, and I'd like you to be too! I'm putting all of my energy in to making sure that this server is the next best thing.
About the server:
The Gamers Grotto isn't your typical arcade hub server. We still have the hub set up, but arcade games will not be the main focus of this server. At some point, all minecraft servers became the same. Popular servers all copy each other, there's no uniqueness anymore except for the differences in game setups and the maps used for them. The Gamers Grotto is dedicated to being unique. Everything you love about minecraft is all in one server. All of the original gamemodes are amplified, more exciting and better than ever!
