What is The Gamers Grotto about? What makes it so 'unique & original'?

I've been working on multiplayer servers since I first started playing minecraft back in 2012. I've been on countless servers, as well as developed and built countless servers. I even had a few successful servers in the past so I learned what it takes to make a Good server. I learned what players like and what they want to see added or changed. I was very good at connecting with the community and creating a cohesive staff team.
The Gamers Grotto has been in the works since February of this year. If you watched the trailer, you'll know why it's taken so long. A lot of building has been done and a lot of plugin development and planning has gone in to this server project. I'm trying to make this server the best it can be! Something truly
unique and original that's never been seen anywhere else.
The Grotto has everything that you love about minecraft and more!
City Survival - you can choose to live peacefully in the city and compete in the economy with other players. Live in luxurious condos or penthouses, create your own shops or businesses and explore all of the amenities the city has to offer! You can also save up to buy cars, planes, motorcycles and other vehicles so you can travel faster!
Optionally, you can choose to live in smaller towns or different types of cities instead of the main city Zenith, which can be pretty expensive. Heck, you can even create your own city and have it established as an official city on the server! Here on The Grotto, you have the power and opportunity to shape the world the way you want it!
Adventure Survival - Travel outside of the city and visit the wilderness to live naturally and freely! Explore a world with magnificent custom terrain and discover lost castles and abandoned fortresses. Fight off the mobs and kill the bosses for loot! Create your own house in the wilderness and live peacefully! You can claim your land to make sure no one griefs it. You can also choose to start building your own town if you like! There's also SlimeFun so there's all sorts of new technology and tools that you can use!
PvP & PvE - There's plenty of pvp on The Grotto. In Adventure Survival, you can raid the lost castles and dungeons hidden in the wilderness for new types of armor with custom enchantments and special abilities. When you have completely taken over a dungeon, you can claim it as your base and establish a clan for you and your friends.
Mini Games - Currently, there aren't many games on the server because there aren't really any people to fill them yet. However, we do have a few games up and are currently developing other classic games. We're focusing mostly on the CLASSIC minigames. The Arenas for Survival Games are much larger which makes the games last longer, giving more people a chance to win. Paintball is another classic that we're bringing back. It's very much like COD or any other 1st person shooter.
Adventure Maps/Quests - Soon, there will be NPC's set up throughout the city and different towns. You will be able to talk and interact with them. Some of them will send you on quests and you'll have to travel to places you never thought existed. You'll come across parkour maps, puzzles, dangerous enemies and bosses. But the end is rewarding.
Other Custom GM's - There are plans for a brand new gamemode that has to do with higher dimensions and traveling across space and time to strange alien realms. This gamemode is coming soon!
You will travel to the Tesseract (similar to the one on interstellar). In the tesseract, you can travel through a grid of different realms and realities! It's basically minecraft in the 4th Dimension!
Some realms are claimable and peaceful. So you can just live in another realm peacefully if you wish. However, some realms are corrupted or dangerous. Going in means you might not come back out. The further you travel through the tesseract, the more dangerous it becomes. But the more fascinating and bizarre it becomes as well..
This project has been started, but probably wont be ready for a while. And even when it is ready, it wont be released until there's a significant amount of players.
This server is still in development. Please be aware of this.
There's still a lot of work to do on the server, but it's ready enough
to start building a small community and to gradually add new features
as time goes on. A productive and cohesive staff team is important in
order for this server to grow! SO PLEASE APPLY!
What are we looking for? Here are the basic requirements.
You have to be at least 15 to have your application accepted. HOWEVER, there are exceptions for people younger than 15. Applicants 14 and younger must speak with the admins in person over discord for an extensive interview and evaluation. Young applicants will also be limited to the helper rank and will not be promoted beyond that unless they display excellent skills in player service, building or dev work. They must also express mature behavior in their job as a helper. Really, that goes for any staff member, however, the younger staff members are always going to be watched.
Maturity. You must be mature. We don't need any melodrama or pointless arguments with players or other staff members. Be respectful to other staff members, be ESPECIALLY respectful to the players and be responsible. Do what is asked of you by higher staff and the players.
Skills, Sense and an Outgoing Personality are very important traits that I look for in staff members. If you have at least one or two of these, you'd be a great staff member for us
We need your building and dev skills to make the server grow even faster (i cant do it all alone), We need your sense to be able to take care of player issues and disputes. We need your outgoing personality to attract more players by making friends with them.
Discord. You must have discord. We need to make sure you have a way to keep in touch with the staff team and online community. We also need to make sure you're aware of any updates or announcements so you know what's going on with the server.
If you're applying for Admin, Dev or Builder you must provide some sort of evidence or references to back up your application and to prove that you have experience.
- If you're applying for builder, it would be best if you could provide some screenshots of your work. If you don't have any, then you can create a small example build on the server to be judged by the staff team.
- If you're applying for Admin, you should try to get a reference from a former owner or staff member who's currently working on another server that you were previously staff on. If you can't get a reference, or prove in any way that you were staff on any previous servers, that will lower your chances of getting accepted unless you talk to the admins for an extensive interview and evaluation.
- It's not easy to get accepted in to higher staff positions. Your application better be good.
If you're applying for Helper or Mod then it would be nice if you could get references from the owner of a server you were previously staff on and it would definitely increase your chances, but it's not completely necessary to have any. What is required, is that you describe your experiences as staff on other servers.
It's way easier to get accepted as a Helper or Moderator by the way. I only require maturity, responsibility and that you listen to instructions and be there for the players. If you can fulfill those simple requirements, you're almost certain to get accepted as a Helper or Mod.
Do you want a place where you can shine and feel special or useful?
Then this is the staff team you'll want to be a part of! If you're the outgoing and social type, then you would be absolutely vital to the team! There are a few people in minecraft communities that are friendly and helpful to everyone. They always welcome the new players and make others feel like family. These people shine and attract people as well as help keep new players on by making friends with them. These people are the glue of a minecraft community.

If you want to be a part of the team, you must understand that:
- Abusing power will result in immediate removal of your rank and possibly a ban
- The more inactive you are, the more likely you are to be demoted.
- Causing drama and fights with other staff members or players results in a permanent ban.
- Asking about promotions will put you low on priority for promotion.
- Only caring about being staff for the sake of having power and a rank.
- Attitude is very important. The more friendly and personable you are, the better you'll do.
- Effort shows me that you care and do quality work. Lack of effort can get you demoted.
- Failing to fulfill responsibilities and tasks given by the admins can get you demoted.
