The Hive Java Edition server closes

Unfortunate news for the Java community but we lost HiveMC today a server that's been around for a while. You can read their forum post about it here. F

Unfortunately they were losing money on hosting Java, having to use profits from their Windows 10 edition server.

That's because of them not keeping there server alive unlike Hypixel.

Dang yeah. Gonna miss the community for sure. But still wish them the best of luck with bedrock

For more information they want us to visit the site just to see the exact same message. Do we have an official statement on why they closed?

Its a little spotty of why they closed the java server. But they explained in their forum post that they were in fact loosing money keeping the Java edition servers operational. They also said that bedrock was a lot more popular and profitable for them.

From a business perspective, it wouldn't make sense to keep it up. To my knowledge, they're the top bedrock server and bedrock servers cost less than a fraction of Java servers.
