"Are people really that spoiled that they complain about free things?"
So I am obviously in GJCTC for graphic design, and I absolutely love the program. As a method of practice, I am part of a few marketplaces, where I make graphics for people. Most of the time, I just do open graphics, but it's because I enjoy doing it, and it's something that passes time in an entertaining way.
Well most recently, I've gotten 6-7 people, in the past day and a half, messaging about how my art is "trash" and how I "should kill myself" and to "stop being 10 years old"
One of my main worries about this, is that my reputation will recede on the websites because of their ignorant mouths. This is important to me, because I only have positive reputation on these websites, and on one website, I am the top GFX services, and I am the only forum which is a sticky post. (Top of the forum page) People might be less likely to come to me for art if I do get this negative reputation....
Here was my post on my forum thread:
"If you are just going to contact me to knock me down about my designs, please refrain from doing so. Understand that I am a student, and I am working on doing something called improving. Why do you think I have my vouch copies open to the public? I love to do what I do, so I don't want to require payment!
And if you're seriously going to complain over something that you can get for free, then please keep it to yourself. I don't want to end up devouching someone over something like this. This is the type of stuff that ruins morale and the care to do these types of things. Just respect what's given to you!
I got multiple messages through Skype and Discord from multiple people takking about my art not being worth giving out for free, and that I should go "kill myself" and other explicit terms. Because I am a nice person, I will not reveal who they are. But if this continues, I'm just going to de-vouch you. This is one of the stupidest and most disrespectful things that you can do. To complain about free art that you don't even have to take!!!!
Vouch Copies will continue to be available to anyone upon request, I don't plan on taking that away. The only time they close is when I am stuffed with work that I need to get finished. You can still request it by contacting me and just asking for a vouch of it. Thanks for reading, if you did."
