What makes the internet great?,
The freedom right? The freedom to go on any website you want and to do anything you want.

Well that will soon come to an end if we don't take action. Ajit Pai, Chairman of the FCC has passed a plan that will allow your Internet Service Providers (ISP) such as Comcast and Verizon to chose what you can view on the internet and what you can't. The internet is this open universe where one can explore anything he/she wants but the FCC is trying to turn the internet into a marketplace. What does this mean? Well think of Sling or other TV Service providers. Some have package plans which let you access certain channels and make you pay extra for viewing others. If we don't take action the Internet will come to look like this:

this is an image taken from an ISP from Portugal, a country where Net Neutrality does not exist.

Net Neutrality just means the internet is an open plain field, your ISP can not decide what you view and how you view it.

How this will effect us? Just as an example, A lot of us here watch Netflix and Hulu. Now once Net neutrality is repealed, ISP will be able to partner up with services like Netflix which will allow users to have fast connection to Netflix but have a slower connection or no connection to Hulu. This also effects the gaming community as big gaming companies such as E.A and Activision will be able to partner up with ISP to allow their games to run faster while other games will run much slower. The government is trying to take away our freedom on the internet and this is how you can save it.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

EXACTLY[DOUBLEPOST=1511393454][/DOUBLEPOST]Note to all non-US residents. Due to the amount of services currently hosted in the US, this will negatively affect us as well. Not to even mention the dangerous precedent.

Mostly because the asshats at FCC keep trying to get their way.
I just thought it was settled with, didn't know it was still going.

thats what I thought too, back when we kicked ass in June. Apparently mr former-verizon-lawyer has decided that his under-the-table paycheck is worth the public scorn and trouble he'll get for this.

Ajit Pai has a very punchable face, reminds me of this. depressing how in a way, kinda still applies to today (mind it, different situation and 12 years ago)

Hmm... Minus the dangerous precedent. Would this be good for uhh the Canadian economy? US / North American Organizations will start moving their servers and services to be hosted on Canadian soil (if not already). More US citizens will purchase Canadian owned VPN services, etc.

you can have your servers anywhere in the world, ISP will still block people from visiting you which is why it is bad
