So after years of bad experiences with very cheap and unknown hosts I have come to the conclusion that the best way to succeed when running a minecraft server is buying a dedicated server or a very very expensive known host.
But here is my question, what would be the best specs for a dedicated server and on which host?
I was thinking on a OVH dedicated server (the plan of $80) but it seems to not be the best option for a Minecraft server due to its specs.

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

You don't need a good host to run a good Minecraft server.
Thanks for the quick reply!
If you don't need a good hosting then what should be the best plan to start with?

It entirely depends on playerbase, If your expecting to start small I would go with shared hosting but if you plan to get 100+ players I would get a dedicated server.

yeah take a look at hypixel
Considering you tried to sell an account worth nothing + your reply to this thread means you know nothing about this market or how to run a server.[DOUBLEPOST=1518798926][/DOUBLEPOST]

Get a decent host, not these $2 for 1gb hosts. Do some research on what host will give you the best package for your price, look at host reviews, features included, limits and more. Dont try to make a server based on making money, unless you have a lot of money to spend. Make the server to experience administrating servers, managing money, online marketing. All of which you can put on a future resume. Your server doesnt even need to be unique. You just need to make it a fun place to be. You will gain knowledge as you go.

Thanks for the reply! I will do some research about hosts

What's your budget?
$150

Your best looking at what your server currently handles, and what you expect it to handle in the near future
I do not have a player base right now because I shut the server down months ago and I lost the domain, but I hope to start with a small but decent playerbase (10+) and start growing up.
Thanks for the reply!
