About a month ago I saw two users arguing about a topic that I thought was fairly interesting and would definitely have conflicting viewpoints. The argument was centered around whether or not a vast majority of Minecraft accounts sold on Mc-Market are cracked, or in much broader terms, stolen.

So I pose the question to the community: Do you believe there are more stolen accounts or secure accounts being sold on Mc-Market?

To start off, here's my answer/opinion to the question: I think there's generally no way to gauge how many accounts were not in some way cracked or stolen if they aren't being sold by the original owner. We'd have to trace each individual account back throughout its owner history and see if anything went wrong down the line. In terms of whether or not there are more cracked accounts than secure accounts on the market, I believe that it depends on the individual sections. I would wager that a significant number of Minecon cape accounts were more than likely cracked/stolen at some point in their history, as opposed to say OG accounts which I would argue the opposite and say there are more legitimate accounts being sold under that category.

A lot of chearful snipes are stolen because they're sniped onto hacked unmigrateds(with the exception of giftcard usage). Plenty of prenames that were unmigrated were stolen as well but likely not most of them on mcm. Accounts that claimed an og 2/4/15, when name changes were released, are probably not cracked accounts; unless the owner never added security questions. As all accounts that were able to change their name were migrated then, they could have only been hijacked before that time. I believe there are less cracked ogs on the market than non

Yes, obviously. Most accounts with no name-history are cracked into.
Most names sniped onto accounts are sniped onto cracked unmigrated accounts.

I'd say it's a very low percentage of accounts that are sold on here are original to the seller.

Safe to say 9/10 cape accounts are cracked and i'd say over 50% of ogs cracked and even new sniped og's as they are sniped onto unmigrated accounts.

It’s interesting how the responses to this thread are completely different to what some of the users were saying on the thread where I got the idea for this thread from.

So my follow up question to everyone is: If a vast majority of Minecraft accounts are stolen/cracked, do both staff and the regular community as a whole turn a blind eye to Minecraft Accounts because it’s one of the larger sections on the site?

Yes lmao because the staff are biased and wont act on it as it would legitimately kill a huge portion of the website and people would just to move tosomewhere where you can sell stolen goods

I mean obviously they turn a blind eye to the site or else it would die out quickly and we would move on go competitors. Another POV would be that staff simply can't prove they're stolen, members can claim they have lost or forgotten TID or OGE.
