The Minecraft That We Lost

We have forgotten the Minecraft that we have fallen in love with, the Minecraft that became the number 1 game. Minecraft has become something that we can no longer be proud of, something that has evolved double, but is only a fraction of its former true self. Allow me to explain.

Minecraft use to be a game that anybody could enjoy. Old, young, teenager, adult, it did not matter. Minecraft was so revolutionary because it was not a game that a developer created, but it was a game that YOU created, your rules, and your style. Wanted to live out life in the big apple? You could do it, want to survive in a post apocolyptic world? You could do it. Technically you can still do it, but to be honest, the best part about Minecraft was doing it all with friends, but now everybody has migrated to servers owned by businesses, thats purpose is to make money. Servers have become a thing that if you dont pay money, you cant really enjoy yourself. This opposes what defined Minecraft in the first place.

Remember mod reviews? Stampylongnose? Maybe even team Craftit? Remember the war against squids, and the obsession with butter. Remember back then when we saw stampy go to the moon, and we (atleast I did) built a rocket ship in my world to attempt to do the same.

We need to go back, because this aint it.

Minecraft Pocket Edition on all our iPads and iPod Touch's with me and my 3 sisters in our own survival world playing over the WiFi was such a good time. May have hated 6th grade, but damn it was more simple back then. Can't believe that was over 5 years ago.

You're not wrong. I could post on MCSL and PMC and get like 15 people on and have a great time.

Minecraft has too much structure now, which goes against everything that it was. For Minecraft you didnt need to know how to code, you didnt need to have alot of money. Everything was so much more simple back then.

Maybe, I personally like hypixel more when it was just a team that made adventure maps

So true, i tried to play MC the other week and ended up getting frustrated with every server I joined but singleplayer feels so lonely in comparison.
I think you have to try so much harder to find a good server you'll enjoy but then you're just worried it'll close down due to lack of donations or time... Something you would never have thought about before. All the servers I used to play on years ago have finally shut down or been bought out by bigger networks, everyone's moved on. Makes me a little sad tbh.

while I did really enjoyed playing Minecraft back in the day with friends I don't think I've enjoyed the game as much as I do now.
