Hey there folks, I'm BlackMoon, thanks for taking the time to read my introduction to BuiltByBit!
I'm just going to be providing a short rundown of my ambitions and goals on this site, hopefully I have a supportive community here who's accepting of my work!
Skillset rundown:
I'm a configurator & plugin developer who's been active in the small server community for quite a while, starting 3-4 years ago I go onto small public servers (often found via Server Lists) and offer them my services, free of charge. I do this because I know the struggles of running your own server, especially when you at first lack the skills to produce a good experience for your players (gameplay-wise). I've found a lot of joy in doing this, and want to turn it into a part-time gig.
My ambitions:
I intend to create configurations and plugins to publish free of charge, and open-source where applicable. Some of these products will be BuiltByBit exclusives to try and draw some attention back to site for providing such a good platform for creators.
In the long-term however, I intend to produce some variety of premium resources. Which will have a much one-on-one support threshold than my free works usually offer. I feel like this will be a good tradeoff for some server owners. As having quick problem remediation is often a service worth paying for. I currently however am unsure about this route, and if paying the site's staff for access to the marketplace is a worthwhile time for me in exchange for being able to charge for my products. Only time will tell on this regard.
My hopes for changes to the site:
In the future, I hope the site accommodates people who cannot pay for Premium when starting out, and offers them a platform to publish premium resources without having to pay. I feel like this will give many people the motivation to start making amazing products that people will deem worthy of paying for, I think this will be a positive thing for the community as a whole.
