Not only is it all these points people have made above, but it's also the fact that we worked our asses off for reputation, so that we could continue to make deals, and for some people this site meant making a living.

Not only are WE losing something though.
MCM is ALSO losing its trust and usage from the community.

The market has been going down from sometime now, and the real question is: was this a killshot to the community or something that'll be resolved/reverted.

The fact that so many active and loyal users would lose more than 70% of their rep is ridiculous and should be the sole factor in why this shouldn't pass.

I'll be losing a lot of my reputation from the past. I've been here for a long time. Pretty bias but I agree that this shouldn't happen

Originally had about 117-124 cant remember

I will have about 26 after the update.

Meanwhile 2019 rep farmers now have the most rep onsite. new users will trust them more than us, isnt that great...

The 56 people who voted No on this are also the 56 people out of 159,441 who actually care.

The solution that has been proposed seems to simply be the easy way out created by someone who is too lazy to come up with a compromise between the new users and the older users.

I was never a big fan of the reputation system to begin with so to see it essentially backfire on everyone is bittersweet.

I've already gone from 54 to 39 and I'll end up at about 5 when this happens. I've already moved off mcm because most of the people here just whine about having to pay for things.

The main reason why I'm not in support of the reputation changes is the fact that removing the reputation from members is completely pointless.

Reputation should be a way to gauge how the general community feels about a user. According to the message that shows above a reputation point if it's posted by a banned member, "Reputation is defined as what beliefs/opinions a community holds of a person." In my opinion, you should be able to give your friend a positive reputation because you've known them for a while and they seem like a solid person to you. If Mick/MCM wants a system that is only used for deals, then they should go ahead and create something separate from the already-standing reputation system. Instead, they've elected to try to clash to two systems together which makes both parties unhappy.

I understand that there are some members with large amounts of reputation points that are pointless; however, it's not that user's fault that there was no evidence system at the time.

tl;dr | The reputation system is defined as "Reputation is defined as what beliefs/opinions a community holds of a person." If Mick wants to make a reputation system that is only meant for deals, then he should just make a separate system for that and not destroy the current reputation system.

Won't it also cause a massive amount of backlog on feedback mods? Causing it to take even longer to re-approve them since they're removing thousands of reps given. If everyone decides to put in evidence to re-approve their deals it will be extremely hard to get through all of them within the deadline of the 14th of Dec.

I've gone from 48 - 35 and will go very low after the update.
