Ladies and Gentlemen of MC-Market,
It’s been awhile since I did one of these. So I thought it was about time that I cooked you all up a nice roast to feast on.
______________
As you may have seen from my previous threads, comments, messages, et cetera - there has been a rising issue with so called “developers”. Namely so-called “web developers”. This isn’t to say that everyone who calls themselves a web developer on MC-Market is utter trash. Take these people for example: Jack; 1amDev; Elcro; Errota; and Kiwi - they all have extensive experience within the web development field and are proven, reputable members of the MC-Market community. (so if you need anything doing around those lines, go to them!)
With the starter out of the way, let’s move onto the main course.
LoveCode Studios. Simply the name alone is a joke.
You can view “their” site at http://wearelovecode.net/, but of course the internet changes. So I took screenshots as per usual incase they ever tried to hide their mistakes.
Straight off the bat you can tell that their site is most likely a template. Now, at the time of writing this up I didn’t really want to waste my time and source wherever that template came from. Heck, do I even need to when they leave the words “theme”, “free”, and “template” in their meta description. If that isn’t shitty standards, then I don’t know what is.
So with the crappy templates, as per usual, also come the inability to actually produce valid HTML code. Using (long since) deprecated tags, such as dir, I mean come on. And you wonder why these people always seem to take to templates in order to show off their “talent”. Take a look at these for example.
The site above seemed to magically appear when LoveCode were confronted about their poor practices. Once again - this site was only a ‘temp’ site and besides they have a much bigger and better one in development. One that had been custom developed from scratch. From scratch.

Let’s take a look at these screenshots of the “new site” then.
Now, of course, my instincts said to me that they’ve stolen another template. I spent about 45 minutes scouring the popular template websites for this so called template. My entire search was based upon two short GIF images of a small portion of their site. I couldn’t find anything, I was forced to conclude that they hadn’t actually used a template!
Until my brain kicked in.
I decided go all PI on them, I took a Gyazo of one of the faces displayed in the second GIF above. This is the one.
I then Google image searched for it. I wasn’t very hopeful, but surprisingly it returned some results.
The visually similar images weren’t very helpful. However the actual web results were. If you look there at the bottom, you’ll be able to see a result for a ‘Jean-Christophe Denier’ on LinkedIn. Let’s take a look at his LinkedIn profile, eh?
Yep, that’s definitely the guy displayed on LoveCode’s “new”, “developed from scratch” site. So come on then you little keyboard warriors, post your argument’s below saying how “Oh he could be using it as a placeholder image, stop being a dick”. Please.
Hold it.
The penny is about to drop.
I was about to call an end to the search. LoveCode could have gotten away without this, until my ‘good friend’ Jean’s previous work experience caught my eye on LinkedIn. He currently works for a company called Friiio. You can find them here: http://frii.io. Wait. Hang on. Rewind that.
Okay so.
What. The. Fuck.
This isn’t stealing a web template - it’s stealing an active company’s brand image. That must be the lowest of the low’s right there. I need say no more.
Look, fellas, if you want to actually create a proper site yourself for once, I recommend you take a beginners HTML lesson with Callam because stealing sites like this isn’t going to get you anywhere at all.
