Today I will be reviewing the TheBeastHosting VPS services.
TheBeastHosting had kindly provided me with 2 of their VPS plans. One VPS SSD server consisting of 8GB of RAM and one VPS Game server also consisting of 8GB of RAM. The host owns all their hardware and colocates them in the finest datacenters.
VPS-SSD:
========
The VPS SSD Plan starts at $4.99 for 2GB and 10GB SSD, the plans come with a reasonable of CPU vCores and all the servers have 200Mbps Network speeds. There is a wide range of Operating Systems selectable and instantly available to use.
The price itself is fairly reasonable for what you get. Although it seems more like you are getting some premium servers at a premium price. The top plan of 32GB RAM and 40GB SSD is only $35.99 which is a great price if your looking to purchase in bulk.
Using iplocation.net the IP shows to be in Massachusetts, USA, although it is said the servers are hosted in Dallas Texas, also in the Psychz datacenter. This location is a great central server hosting location. From the UK I receive an average ping of 146ms on a fairly good network. To test the servers network download speed I have downloaded a file using the server from Canada, here are my results:
1GB File - 52 Seconds
500MB File - 35 Seconds
250MB File - 10 Seconds
These results show a great response time for the server and from what they offer it is highly expected. Would definitely say they have a great network for their VPS SSD plan.
To conclude the VPS-SSD plan is a great server plan, the server runs on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2670 0 @ 2.60GHz which is perfect for what the average person would use the server for. The pricing is a little on the high side but for what you receive it is great. The plans are very flexible and a wide range of variety is offered.
VPS-GAME:
=========
The VPS GAME Plan starts at $14.99 for 4GB and 20GB SSD, the servers also come with 200Mbps Network speed and a reasonable amount of vCores per server. Alot of Operating Systems are offered. They offer Antide L7 Protection and Reverse DNS on their servers. The servers are configured in a hard raid 5. With advertised read and write speeds of 550MB/s.
Due to this server being a high quality server, the price is definitely cheap for the hardware and what you are provided with. You are able to buy upto 16GB of RAM and there is a lot of room for flexibility between the packages.
Using iplocation.net the server is located in Dallas Texas, in the Psychz Datacenter. After pinging the server, from the UK I receive an average ping of 151ms, the server is on a good network. To test the servers network I have downloaded several files from OVH Canada and here are my results:
1GB File - 6 Seconds
500MB File - 4 Seconds
These results are fanatastic, although to prevent any bias, I have also downloaded files from Germany in Europe and here are the results:
1GB File - 39 Seconds
500MB File - 28 Seconds
250MB File - 13 Seconds
The network is absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend this plan for high traffic server usage.
To conclude the VPS-GAME plan is an amazing server plan and runs on Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, this is an amazing CPU for any game server and it was a delightful experience to mess around on this server. The pricing is definitely reasonable for what you receive, I will definitely purchase this package in the future.
