It is the Latin word for Opal which is, in my opinion, a very colorful ore that represents multiple ores because of its shape and colors, it is very modifiable in shapes which makes it unique as well.

I haven't seen many jewelry stores use that name + opalus.com is available as well.

The thing that makes this name unique is that it is a very simplistic name, it is also 6 characters long which a very simple order so that people can remember the name and not be confused or forgot about it.
