Hi I have owned many servers in the past and devolved many servers in the past and it just isn't satisfying me. I am just wanting some info on starting a hosting company. I have read on it that it cost a lot of money and a lot of maintenance. I need some advice though where should I buy my machine, how much memory should it have and all of that kind of stuff. I'm also looking for some one who may be interested in possibly running it with me and has a lot of time. Thanks for helping me out Mc-Market.

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

It requires a lot of work, dedication and knowledge. Looking at all the questions you're asking you have very little experience in the area. You're also expected to know all that stuff before starting a company. Doing some research will get you really far as there are dozens of threads on this already.

You should also expect some hate coming towards you as many hosting companies are active on this forum and have some kind of rivalry against every who's even considering on starting one.

I seriously would not recommend it. It will cost in the thousands to actually make it all and then high expenses every month. The market is incredibly full and many hosting companies just cannot last. You will also need experience with system administration etc yourself because if one day your system admin leaves, you're screwed.

If you do want to actually go ahead and do it then it depends on who you want to appeal to.

OVH - Has bad reputation in the server hosting business as the noob company but they sell ok machines cheap. This will mean you can have low prices and appeal to the wider audience.

ReliableSite - More expensive but have good machines and support, would need higher prices which will turn off a lot of the younger audience who don't really care about specs too much but will appeal more to older people who want a good machine for their server.

There are more companies but they're the ones i have experience with.

Ram wise I'd say start at 64 or even 32 and then increase as demand increases.
Thanks a lot I'll check out all of this and thanks for the heads up!

Ovh is good but support is slow and network dodgy at times.
The hardware is good though.
Well I decided I'm gonna hold it off thanks everyone for helping me!
