Hello. Last week I decided to prove how FUCKED the servers section is with spam and shit threads.

I in the span of probably 2 minutes reported 20+ threads (all fairly reported) and the result:
Today, one week later I wake up to 4 warningpoints (Thanks Justis), because appearantly reporting many threads (no matter if they are rightly reported or not)
Gives you warning points for giving the Moderators a lot of work at once.

And Justis adviced me to report multiple threads with with a long delay to avoid giving the mods too much work at once.. hello? Its not like Ill just save links to shitty threads so I can report it the next day?

This whole situation is ridiculous, and Im actually shocked that I get warnings for helping. Mick this must be reviewed asap. The forum gets shittier and shittier, and things like this highly contribute to it.

What exactly is this suggestion thread suggesting? What's the change you want?
To remove this rule?
1.3.2 Do not spam the reports/chat-reports/support ticket system with the same reason or content.

Also, for context:

e60f76f382662522fc5d67fc01615e2f.png

I have several users who PM me links to resources by banned members, which I delete when I get a minute, without them ever filling up reports with a wall of reports for the same reason by the same member.
This is fantastic, and prevents the report system from getting clogged up by endless report after report. Saving time, and allowing other members to have their reports managed within a more timely manner.

Many of your reports were on threads that hadn't even been replied to since the beginning of June. They weren't hurting anyone. They easily could have waited via the other methods I've suggested, but instead they were included in the report spam, and affected the wait times of everyone else.
Preventing this mass... Hunting... For rule violating content, which leads to the report wall spam is exactly why the rule exists.

A lot of content doesn't get caught by the staff team, and even by the community in the reports; as a result, it slips by and in our MC-Market history builds up a lot of rule violating content which could potentially be reported if someone wanted to go hunting for it, however, that is the biggest waste of time...
Reports on real content, violations happening now, which are noticed, for one, those should be given priority.

If you want to hunt for content, you may do so, and again, report it via the methods I've described. But spamming active reports is against the rules, and not for no reason.

If this is true, it really needs sorting out. If its too much work dealing with peoples valid reports. Then MCM needs more staff members to deal with them.

Wait for a second, so you went onto 20 different threads and put the same exact thing "pls cleanup servers from shit like this". But then, if I went and rated 20 of your posts funny. Because I thought they were all funny, that makes it justified? (Get it Justis ). Why would you not simply clean up the message you were sending. Somehow, I doubt that 20 threads needed to be removed that quickly. It seems like you just seem a bit awry with our staff here.

Its not about "hunting" its about getting sick of forums filled with spam when trying to browse the forum.
If it took me 2 minutes to find that, couldnt staff take 5 minutes of their day to just scroll though forums themselves and look for it if its such a bother to have it reported?[DOUBLEPOST=1501345518][/DOUBLEPOST]

No thats my point they were all unwanted posts and is specifically therefor I reported them, such threads specifically IS A BIG problem in the servers section and is not hard to come by.

I read Justis post, but that's what the report system is for - reporting threads that break the rules. I don't see a reason why a member would have to PM a staff member a thread that breaks the rules when there is a report system. The fact that warning points were given to someone who is trying to make the forum better is crazy. Warning points should have been given if threads were reported that didn't break the rules, however according to the OP they were breaking the rules. This needs to get fixed, or MCM needs more staff members.

Tbh the warning could've been a bit extreme, but can be justified (Justis).

You went on 20 threads and spammed the same message, I'd be pissed off too.

Threads that broke the rules though. One of the jobs of moderators is to handle reports, they shouldn't get mad if there's a lot.

They should be if they expect them to waste a lot of time on reports that were not that important and were spammed with the same reason, giving them no idea why the thread should actually be looked into.

I somewhat see where you're coming from however according to the OP they were justified reports.

Hm, this is the first time in a while where I can't immediately pick a side. Riaz did you copypaste the report reason, or write a specific one for each thread?

There is definitely a better advice Justis could have given, which is to give a unique and specialized reason for each thread. If it's important enough, typing one or two sentences into the report thing won't kill you.
Having been a mod, I can understand the initial reaction to finding 20 reports with pretty much the same report reason. However, I'm also of the belief that this should not be an immediate warning point unless it's more than 2 times the same thread for the same reason.
From what I remember, the thing I would have done is probably to have resolved one report, taken a look at the next and then either rejected most of them out of hand (reason: Unclear report reason/possible spam), and in the rejection message asked you to give more specific/detailed reasoning.

Now, I cannot possibly know all the details of this situation, but I hope these warning points are not permanent? If they are, they should be made temporary at least.

Perhaps one of the mods could find the time to write a short tutorial on how to report stuff in a way that is the easiest for mods to handle. I can't do this any longer because the system changed shortly after I retired.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are moderators on here payed? Because if this is a volunteer position than yes, they do it on their own time.

If what I was told is true, yes they are paid (100%) but not as much as they should be paid (Mick correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't see any threads with the amounts they are each being paid - I know it's none of our business - but yeah)

All reports were justified and dealt with, however I was still issued a warning.
