This site breeds scammers, and there is a simple solution to stop it...

Problem: A day doesn't go by where I don't see someone QQing in this forum about being scammed by ______. What do 99% of these cases have in common? The transaction was not conducted on site, but over Skype or something else. Then a scam report is created, and a Skype chat or screenshot is submitted as evidence, you really don't know who you can believe. Why? Because Skype convos/screenshots are extremely easy to fake. This way of doing business will forever be a circle jerk of bullshit.

Solution: ALL BUSINESS MUST BE CONDUCTED ON MCM. Conducting business outside of the site nullifies any option to get recourse through a scam report. Essentially, buyer/seller beware if you do business off the site. By keeping all business on MCM, stories and accusations can be verified. There is a reason why sites like Ebay don't allow dealing off site, because there is virtually no way to verify claims, and Ebay doesn't want to be liable for bad deals that can't be verified.

It really is a no brainer. By enacting a policy like this, it would bring actual legitimacy to the site.

I like this idea and back when Verringer was owner, I actually have a suggestion to add live PMs so users would be encouraged to use McM to deal rather than Skype. Too bad it never got implemented as the reason to people using Skype over Mcm is due to its live chat which is something that Mcm can also implement.

Yea, hopefully MCM could get a system in place (Though it might be expensive?) to do deals through, while staff could pull out the info in case of a scam report. Because, well, PM'ing is slow...

What I've seen from a lot of the successful forums are that when they see a problem, they find a solution. This system won't exactly eradicate scamming but it will make the job of scam reports staff a lot easier.

And valid, because they can see the conversations for them self, and not have to make a decision based off something that can easily be forged.

Or just all trades are done here? Where they can be validated? What is to stop someone from joining Discord posing as someone else?

I don't think you can do a live chat on Xenforo except shoutbox.
