I think Andrew Yang is a highly qualified presidential candidate, the only issue is old-heads don't read into his policies and no matter how many facts back him up, they can't wrap there head around how corrupt are big-tech companies/our country is as a whole which I feel like is going to cost him alot.

Universal Income won't work.
It will suffer the same failures of Welfare, but worse.
If you know you will get money from the government regardless of what you do, you won't have the incentives to work harder.

Incentives. You have to play to the Human condition. This will fail incredibly.

He's good outside of the "Send your money to the govt, only for the govt to send part of it back to you" stupid bullshit

Not quite sure what you mean by this, All I know is that corporations are selling our data for their profit & that big tech are not getting taxed so all in all we will be getting a sum of money that we deserve, & yes some money will be sent back to the government but currently we are not receiving any money that we deserve.[DOUBLEPOST=1574105131][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you read his policy, which I'm not sure if you did, the money from UBI is coming from money that should already be here, we will not be generating more money, and all the money that citizens do receive will flow right back into the economy, So far everyone that has doubted UBI but then does there "homework" on it realizes that it will work.

What I'm saying is the money for it is money you paid in taxes, wouldn't it be more efficient to give a tax cut to people who'd have to give more than what'd be given back to them and the money for people who don't

Explain? The money that we would be receiving is tax money from big tech companies such as Amazon & Google, the reason we would get $1000 a month is because those companies paid 0% in tax money last year, and years prior to that. The companies have loopholes such as (basing their company in the bahamas) where they don't have to pay taxes. Once a tax is placed and Google/Amazon has to start paying taxes, that tax money would just be sent as a check to us citizens.

I dont even live in the USA, and I love what Yang wants to do. If I was of age to vote and lived in the USA, Yang would be on my top list to vote for.

Looks like you have done your homework haha, I don't disagree with anyone who doesn't like him I just hope they educated themselves fully about what he is about before making assumptions.

His policy aside, he is probably the only democrat with a chance of beating Trump, however I doubt he'll win the nomination.

Agreed aswell, He does have a chance he's scaling in popularity fast & if he does get the coverage he deserves he will win, but atm he doesn't but he is making progress fast.

Agreed, however it's worth considering that to win the democratic nomination he will need the support of far more ideological party democrats, whereas I'd say his main asset is being able to draw the middle ground and the less ideological democratic voters.

I think he's a joke. Even if universal income COULD work, I think things shouldn't be handed you to. Especially 1000$ per month

Not sure you got what I was saying. Corporate taxes are just double taxes. The corporation gets taxed, and then the people who get money from the corporation get taxed. The government just wants to tax you more. You aren't owed anything by these corporations.
This is just a new form of welfare, and welfare has failed spectacularly. It causes people to work less and do the bare minimum to receive it.

It won't work. It never will.

You keep missing the point entirely, Amazon does not pay taxes. 0, they do not paying anything whatsoever. They do NOT get taxed.

I personally do not believe in any of the Democratic candidates' universal income or social welfare programs. While I do believe the government should provide assistance to the lower income individuals and work to build up low income cities, I dislike how close to socialist the political ideologies of the Democratic party are. Too many of them make claims of "we will erase your college loans", "we will take your debt away" and young (and even older) voters fail to realize the fact that this implies massive tax increases. Instead of paying a $50k to $100k in student loans throughout your lifetime, you will be paying more in taxes for your entire life to not only pay off the debt you accumulated but the debt of everyone else.

Everyone should work for what they want in life. No one should ever expect to just be given everything. I knew a man in high school who was broke, parent-less, and homeless by age 15. Before the age of 35 he became a multi-millionaire.

Obviously, just my opinion. Though I always will believe in the fact that we should work for and earn everything. I will never support any economic theory in which my hard work will fund another's laziness.
