Amazon paid $0 in federal income taxes.
This was already mentioned and I'm not sure why it matters. Amazon still payed plenty in local and state taxes, the money that was reinvested creates jobs, and all the stock options Amazon gave will result in income or capital gains tax when they are sold.

There's more to UBI than just everyone gets $1,000 a month. Some people cant afford to support there child with cancer, but with $1000 that gives them a small sigh of relief, his biggest argument is also that robots are taking jobs. And the money that Amazon reinvested into the company with local taxes, didn't do anything but make the elite profit. Look at how bad the working conditions are for an average amazon employee.

But why spend so much to give everyone $1000/month if it's only going to help a portion of the population that is struggling? That's just large scale welfare.

And how does Amazon HQ2 (50,000 new jobs) only profit the "elite"? Are the "elite" people with college degrees?

Do some research on how Amazon manages to ship things so quickly, & how over-worked and underpaid their employee's are. Amazon is one of the most corrupt businesses of all time. Simply look up "poor amazon working conditions"

Do you even know what Amazon HQ2 is? It's a corporate headquarters, not a fucking warehouse. "Do some research... Simply lookup 'amazon hq2'"

Yeah.. looks like a lot of minimum wage jobs with bad working conditions to me.
