I've been looking for a decent dedi, but don't quite need the full
performance of a dedi. I just need a decent server that could hold ~100 players without lagging on SOTW.

I came across Clovux's offerings and their prices seem pretty low, so I wanted to get some thoughts here.
https://clovux.net/dedicated/

I was planning on having a bungee network with 10gb towards the main server ( factions ) , 4gb towards the hub, and 1gb towards the bungee proxy.

Thoughts? (( not interested in thoughts from clovux as I know you guys actively post on mcm, but you would have bias ;) ))

DO NOT TRY TO ADVERTISE YOUR HOST HERE. I DO NOT NEED SHITTY HOSTING OFFERINGS.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Depends on plugins. As long as your plugins aren’t super extensive 10 gigs should be fine for 100 players.

Just the standard factions plugins, looking at ~ 50-60 plugins.
I was more of thinking about cpu cap / performance. As obviously 10gigs on a budget server for $1/gb isn't gonna be the same as a dedi or semi-dedi like what this seems to be offering.

I'm at ~19.8 TPS full autoing a 255 AP nuke on my current pebblehost server that I was just using for development purposes, and it's only 2gb ram, so it's not like it's horribly laggy or using a ton of plugins.

Just looking for some advice as to if this would be good, or maybe it would be overkill, etc.

12GB RAM is really the maximum you should go on. Past that and you're not going to see any benefits if you have a good CPU.

You'd probably be better off going to OVH/SoYouStart directly than Clovux, the resources on their dedicated servers look to be exactly the same as SYS's offerings, they could be reselling.

Well yes, but if you read my thread you'd see I said I don't need to full power of these servers - and they're substantially more expensive. Why would I pay for a full dedi from SYS when I only need 1/3 the performance of one?

Thread also says I'm aware of that and that I wasn't planning on dedicating all 16gb to one server ;)

I have a dedicated server which does not get used to the full extent, maybe you wanna rent in?

It's a Intel i7 2600, 3,4GHz which is perfect for servers.
I'm gonna install a panel of your preference. I was thinking on pterodactyl

The i7-4790k on the lowest SYS game server boosts to a higher level of 4.4GHz rather than the Clovux i7-6700k which only goes to 4.2GHz.

I don't know where your geographic location is but the SYS server has France or Canadian options. Clovux doesn't seem to show where their servers are located.[DOUBLEPOST=1594578319][/DOUBLEPOST]

i7 2600 seems to have quite a low base clock at only 3.4 and only goes up to 3.8. The base clock on both of the SYS and Clovux server is already 4.0 GHz

Correct. But from my experience it's actually quite good.

Have been thinking of moving to a higher clock speed though.

True, but the SYS would cost $13/mo more + $24 initial setup - While that obviously isn't a whole lot in the long run ,
I don't particularly think the difference is worth that, and b ) I don't even really need that performance difference.

Plus I have a fairly small server and am looking to save money , but for the performance to still be good and for it to not lag to pieces on SOTW like alot of new servers nowadays seem to.

Whatever works for you. My two cents is just SYS has been very reliable for the year we've used them so far, we've only had one issue with them and when it did happen it was fixed quite quick. In my mind, it's better to pay that small extra per month for a service you know will be reliable. Their DDoS protection works very well for us as well.

But if you're looking to stay on the cheap side and take that risk then it may work for you.

Hetnzer's AX41-NVMe can basically handle anything you throw at it. Then just use TCPShield for the DDoS Protection.

Clovux just seem to be virtualizing a GAME-3 from SYS, and assuming they fill it (which they probably do), you're only gonna get like 2vCores at most which is not really enough comfortably for 1 server let alone 3 or so.
