Description

If implemented, MC-Market thread analytics would help service owners and product sellers target their audience properly and figure what is best for their business. Questions like "Are sticky threads worth it?" or "Do sticky threads really bring that much more traffic?" could easily be answered and determined if this were to be implemented.

What it could track

It could track daily, weekly, and monthly views on the thread and the general locations of the views on a map. This helps thread owners get an idea of where and what users are to allow them to maximize business and profits.

Other ways it could be beneficial

Let's say you have signature banners leading to your service threads. You could easily determine how much traffic they are getting and things of that nature. You could also determine if your sidebar ads are paying off as well.

While I like the idea, it should be noted that (due to the unique idea represented here) it's highly unlikely that Xenforo has a pre-existing addon to help. I can imagine a custom addon would cost quite a bit if you were to incorporate graphs and such.

Then again, that's my two bits. I certainly hope this suggestion gets accepted

For the thread this would be good, but a signature there are many off site places that will shorten your link then track everyone that uses it. But it would be great if MCM did implement it.

I considered that factor, but a implementation directly from mcm would help because it is more legitimate that a random shortened google link.

Well there is a simple addon that they could add to the site that is free which is the RainDD users viewing addon which shows current users and total users ever seen. It would not be as helpful as you are wanting I assume, but it could be a nice, quick addon to have while they possibly work on it.

This has in-built and in-depth analytics for banner ads which we offer to people who purchase them, but doesn't have analytics for thread stickies. The reason for this is that it isn't possible to tell how many of the impressions and clicks are due to it being stickied and how many are from it just being a useful service that someone needed.

I think that the best thing for you to do is keep track of how many views your thread has before and after the sticky and see whether you think it personally helped you, considering stickies can vary significantly in effectiveness based on several factors.

We do have google analytics, but that isn't relevant to the stickies at all and it's not like we'd be able to give out the login to anyone who has an advertisement anyways

Well mind if I ask what the trouble would be to allow Supreme users the ability to see who has viewed a thread? It would at least solve this problem until or unless you wanted to get a more premium and better version of this.

There's no real way for us to introduce something like this, far too difficult to get developed and the cost would outweigh just how beneficial this could be for the few people. Use a link shortener with tracking such as bit.ly if you'd like more detail with your signature advertisements.
