You've got a decent grasp of the basics and that's always a rare thing with designers these days. What I would do is try to improve on the subtlety of the details, some being:
- shadows do not need to be so harsh, subtlety sometimes offers a better result.
- consistency, you added a shadow on the bottom 3 but not the top arrow point; symmetry is always important specifically if it's designed to be so (from what I can see in this design)
- blending is important! make use of opacity to blend backgrounds into colors;
- it doesn't need to be black black, you have many shades of black coming from soft grays to blueish grays, create contrast and put emphasis on headers and text.
