Hey,
With the sticky thread system (at least in design and graphics section) you can be waiting forever to get stickied as everyone, quite fairly, hogs a spot once they have it.
Whilst this is fair enough, it also kind of sucks for anyone wanting to pay to advertise. I know from personal experience I've gone for a slot and then a month or so later i have to cancel it as situations have changed and its no longer needed. I have also seen i'm 8th or so in the queue and then suddenly i'm getting a thread presumably because everyone else has cancelled instead.
I honestly believe it would bring in more payments for advertising if there was some sort of advertising limit along with getting people to use this forum more actively as sellers as they would need to be on more often than just using a sticky thread for it all.
I understand a con of this would be more payment processing which from what i understand is already a problem.
Ways this could be done:
- Limit the amount of weeks that can be purchased and/or don't allow extensions past a certain amount
- Limit the number of times someone can extend an advert
- Let people see the rough amount of weeks paid for in the queue so they can see how long they have to wait. If they don't want to wait that long then they wont take up the queue.
Thanks for your time,
Ellie
