I would highly suggest renting a slot, even a minecraft-mp slot got me a new player every 15 seconds (was #1 slot) and after 3 hours of renting we had a constant 10 player base! It's extremely worth it ;) I suggest asking Marthellio to PM you when he has a slot :)
I'll be getting a slot around next month :p

SLOTS! SLOTS! SLOTS! Buy slots on MC Server websites, and don't get a YouTuber. If you get a YouTuber, most people will join to see the YouTuber, and will leave when he stops recording. Slots, however, people join because of the server type, and not to see anyone.
Good luck with the future of your server! ^-^

Server Improvements to RETAIN players:
  • Having your IP available everywhere. I could not find your server IP anywhere. I did some google searches and looked on your forums, still no IP. I then assumed it was the same as your forums domain so I just kinda guessed, however, you should make it blatantly clear as to what the server IP is on your forums. Maybe in the top left, add a box with a 'click to copy' feature containing the server IP.
  • Don't use stolen spawns. I noticed your faction spawn was the BattlePvP's old spawn. Literally everyone uses it for some reason lol.
  • Have your servers online at all times. When I logged on, I noticed that all your servers were offline except for factions. Downtime is the #1 thing that kills servers. If your server is down, whether it be the bungee or an individual server, then you will not keep a constant player base. They may think that it isn't a steady server and too many things could go wrong.
  • Having a clean hub. I noticed that every time you login to the hub, it gives you a useless nether star. I assume that the nether star is your server selector, however, that seems to be broken. Having the server selector is pretty important or else some players may not know what to do. It may seem clear that you're suppose to type /server, however, younger, inexperienced children will not know what to do when they join your server, thus causing them to leave.
  • Making sure everything works like it's suppose to. This is more my personal opinion as it doesn't typically affect whether or not a player will actually enjoy the server. Things such as: making sure you don't take damage in spawn, not having hunger in spawn, having a working hub, enderchests working properly, having all your warps work correctly, making sure the kits have the right items, having items in your shop, etc. These are all things that are missing on your server just from simple observation
How to OBTAIN players:
  • Generic gamemodes are not a bad thing. Kelsey said that they don't get your players, however, that is untrue. Generic gamemodes need to be made well for them to get popular, however. Include features such as KoTHs and my supplycrates plugin to help make your server more fun. This probably could have gone under the retail players part. By the way, thanks for buying my plugin <3
  • Have many events on your server. Be online and have many fun events planned. Schedule things such as "cratekey all at 3:00 PM EST" or "faction war event at 3:00 PM EST" and post them on your server MOTD. This won't increase your overall server average but it can get you a good amount of players at a certain time, which is still improvement. This probably could have gone under the retail players part.
  • Post your IP everywhere. This goes back to that first thing I said. Make sure you have your IP available everywhere. Register on every voting site, make a minecraftforums post about it, make a planetminecraft post about it, advertise it in any inexpensive way you can. Again, this will help you begin to get that constant flow of players.
  • Youtube advertisement. Having youtube advertisement is very important. Youtube videos get reoccurring views which will give you a constant flow of players. PrestonPlayz has done videos for me before and those videos get another 100k views every 1-2 months thus bringing me more and more players. Even if they aren't getting reoccurring views, having a simple youtube video on your server will still get you some players, regardless of the youtuber's size. Make sure you do your research before hiring a youtuber. I get emails every day asking if I could record on some person's server and that just makes me laugh because the person emailing me didn't even bother looking at my channel before asking. He just saw my sub count and high viewership and decided to email me. Make sure the person isn't already doing a series on the gamemode you want them to do, as well as, make sure that they don't own their own server.
  • Voting site advertisement. Don't rent out a spot. Renting is the biggest scam ever. Sure, it will bring you some players while you have the spot, however, those players aren't going to come back. People who say renting works were either lucky or misinformed. Buying the actual spot does work. I've used .org 3 times in the past and can say that it temporarily works very well. You get a huge boost in player count while you own it, but then it drops down, which should be expected. It does boost your overall player count for a few months after, however. When you want to buy the .org spot make sure that you buy it over a holiday or over the summer. Kids are out of school then so they will definitely be playing minecraft. Renting the .org spot on a regular school week is an absolute waste. It costs loads of money to rent them so expect to drop between $3,000 - $4,500. Furthermore, make sure you win that #1 spot. I've had the #4, #2, and #1 and there is a significant difference between #1 and #2. I will be getting the #1 spot for Christmas break this year because of how freaking impactful it is, especially over the Christmas break. If you take my advice and decide to do the same thing, I wish you luck because you'll be competing with me :)

I really hope I was helpful and didn't come across as too harsh. Leave a rating if I taught you something you didn't know :)

And if you're going to be an ass to my dev, don't bother replying
Sorry but iEnderOG isn't even half a developer.

I think all developers can agree with me on this, we ALL hate so-called developers who call themselves developers because they can configure a website/server, the term "developer" is being misused within this community... a developer is someone who creates something, or "develops" a certain project. Developing is not where you are editing configuration files to make a server better. Again please don't call someone a developer when they really aren't one. Did they create the plugins on your server? No. They edited them. Did they create your server? No, the Spigot Jar did. I really don't see how they're a developer?

Funny!

Maybe you should read a bit...

I gave you legitimate help, and then you 'bothered' to reply saying that the help I gave was 'unhelpful' your "dev" came in and said some bull -- even though the advice I gave is true... and your game-modes are not unique... that's why you're having troubles..

The only reason I'm having trouble is because you're giving me bullshit advice. You see primemc? You see ANYTHING unique there? Just friggen Prison, Factions and typical crap like that. Yeah they have ads, youtubers probably, but not all "unique" gamemodes can get players.

Sorry but iEnderOG isn't even half a developer.

He's my developer. I can give a shit whether or not "developer" meets your bullshit "realistic" definition. Also, he can code shit for me, that's why half of our crap is custom.
