I don't have one, but it sounds like it's either
A| a software issue, where it's trying to save power just to last enough by severely limiting CPU power, or even maybe
B| a hardware issue, where it's having trouble regulating the voltage (although I find this highly unlikely).
Either way, you shouldn't let it reach 1-2%, it really hurts battery life in the long term.

Also, if you can connect it to iTunes, it's not fake. I don't think they've gotten the screen bezels right on fakes yet anyway...
