Topics of personal interest

Hey guys!

We’re doing an English controlled assessment in a couple of days worth 20% and we need to do a 1 paged speech (both sided) on something I’m interested in. The only things I’m interested in are some videogames, and some sports but that’s pretty much it from what I remember. I wouldn’t want to do a speech on a topic like football as I’m not that invested into it, I just enjoy playing.

My teacher said we’d get more marks if we do quite a complex topic. I had a thought if I should do something like stocks or crypto or something, but I’m not sure. We’re mostly marked based on performance.

My mind was sort of blank so I decided to turn to the #1 Minecraft Marketplace! If someone here can give me a topic on what I could write my speech on, I’d give you some cash.

You could do a segment about investing in index funds and how the S&P 500 outperformed 95% of individual investors and how hedgefund managers rarely beat the market.

The economics of the sugar industry in the modern era - don't ask.

Segment about compound interest and investing as a whole may be interesting as well.

You said you're interested in videogames. Do something with that. You can go into detail on the types of games, how these games are made, political views on modern videogames, and/or your views on videogames. If you get more points for the complexity of the topic, describe how complex it is for game devs to design and develop a game that their fans will enjoy. Designing and developing a well-polished game is not easy. It's all up to you but one thing I'll say, you do not want to give a speech about something you're not interested in. The speech will come out forced and possibly boring (depends on how good you are at giving speeches). I recommend picking a topic on something you like.
